RESEARCH INTERN Environmental Sciences Division Oak Ridge National Laboratory Oak Ridge, Tennessee Jan 1992-July 1992 -Carried out an individual research project evaluating the toxicity of the rivers and streams draining the Oak Ridge Federal Reservation. This project was part of a larger assessment investigating the use of biomarkers in evaluation water quality and environmental damage on the reservation. Responsibilities were as follows: -Engaged in extensive field work to select testing sites and collect water samples. -Conducted biotoxicity assays with fish embryos to evaluate water quality. -Completed a research paper and 30-minute seminar on the results of the project in fulfillment of requirements for the Research Participation Semester through the Department of Energy.
