Background Seoul Women’s University, one of our exchange partner institutions in Seoul, Korea, has organized a summer programme named Bahrom International Program 2013 and would like to invite you to join. The programme lasts for 4 weeks, in the period from 30 June to 26 July 2013. It provides you with an excellent platform to explore Korean culture, learn Korean and interact with students from different cultural backgrounds through classroom learning, excursions and cultural activities. On-campus Accommodation and Fee Waivers During the programme, you will be living in twin bed room of the on-campus student hostel room. You will be invited to partner's home of Korean exchange students for the homestay weekend. It would be the best way for you to practice Korean and to experience different cultures. As our exchange partner, Seoul Women’s University kindly grants our students waivers of tuition, room and board as well as excursions. For details, please refer to the programme details on page 3. Air Ticket Sponsorship Lingnan University will sponsor the net airfare of the most economic and reasonable flight between Seoul Women’s University and Hong Kong. Other expenditure including tax, security, fuel, other miscellaneous items and your personal trips will be the responsibility of participants. Insurance To ensure your safety, you are required to purchase suitable and adequate insurance covering travel, personal accident, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalisation and emergency evacuation / repatriation before your departure to Korea, during and after the entire period of the program. The duly completed application form should be submitted to OMIP by 5:30 p.m., 14 February 2013 (Thursday). A selection interview will be arranged in late February 2013. Please also note that OMIP reserves the final right in the selection of students for the Seoul Women’s University Bahrom International Program 2013. Courses and Credit Transfer Students who have passed the courses at Seoul Women’s University Bahrom International Program 2013 can transfer credits back to the University with prior approval from relevant departments / programmes / programme directors. Grades obtained will not be counted in GPA calculation, but the actual grades obtained will be shown in the transcript. Study Load Credits taken are counted in the maximum study load for the academic year of 2012-13 or in the next academic year (i.e. 2013-14) as appropriate.
