Class 1
P(UK) ZENITH WORKING HUNTER WINTER CLASSIC
2015 & SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP 2015
Working Hunter Horse/Pony, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over. Rider any age.
These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly.
The final will be divided into the following 2 divisions:
Section 1
Minimum height 76cms and maximum height 90cms
Section 2
M&M – Minimum height 65cms and maximum height 76cms
METHOD OF JUDGING:
1. Horses/Ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to
produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course Builders are recommended to avoid fences with a
related distance.
2.
Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10 - at the Judge’s discretion.
3. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in
elimination.
4. Fall of horse or rider will result in elimination.
5. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for
overall impression at the completion of each round.
6. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine the final placings. Should
there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration - the
comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved.
7.
1st & 2nd placings in the relevant height sections will go forward to the Topthorn WH
Championship

Mountain & Moorland Nursery Stakes, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, not exceeding
128cms. Registered in their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New
Forest, Welsh Section A or B. Rider not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the
current year.
Open Mountain & Moorland WHP, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over. Registered in
their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fell,
Highland, New Forest, Shetland or Welsh Section A, B, C or D. Rider any age. (See Rule 7 of the
current P(UK) Rule Book).
Classes may be divided by height and fences adjusted for each height section. Confined
Novice competitors must wear a white armband.
Section 1
Nursery Stakes not exceeding 128cms - Rider not to have attained their 12th
birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Section 2
Not exceeding 122cms - Rider any age. (See Rule 7 of the current P(UK) Rule
Book).
Section 3
Exceeding 122cms but not exceeding 133cms - Rider any age. (See Rule 7 of
the current P(UK) Rule Book).
Section 4
Exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms - Rider any age. (See Rule 7 of
the current P(UK) Rule Book).

Rider must be the correct age for the animal they ride. Fences to be adjusted for each height section.
This championship may be split at the discretion of the affiliated show:
Section 1
Nursery Stakes, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, not exceeding 133cms.
Rider not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Section 2
Open WHP, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, not exceeding 133cms.
Rider not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Section 3
Open WHP, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, exceeding 133cms but not
exceeding 143cms. Rider not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st January in the
current year.
Section 4
Open WHP, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, exceeding 143cms but not
exceeding 153cms. Rider not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in the
current year.
1st & 2nd placings in the relevant height sections will go forward to the Topthorn WH
Championship
Highest Placed Coloured Horse/Pony from all classes including Zenith will qualify for the
coloured working hunter championship kindly sponsored by BSPA
1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies will qualify for the Winter Classic
2015 & Supreme Championship 2015 P(UK)
Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of Ponies (UK) must
become a member before the time of entry.
Entry Fees: All Classes £9 pre entry on line/£10 on the day.
Rosettes to Sixth Place unless otherwise stated. Champion, Reserve Rosettes and Sashes
as applicable. BSPA Coloured Championship Rosettes kindly sponsored by BSPA

All classes can be entered on the day- But class Numbers may have to be limited/split.

The Arena Cafe will be open and serving a New Menu of Hot and Cold Drinks and Food
Directions:
From A140 – take A1120 signposted Stonham Aspal, past 30 mph signs, turn left towards
Millgreen/Mickfield. After 1.2 miles keep right towards Debenham. Topthorn Equestrian Centre is 1
mile on your left hand side.
From Debenham – take Gracechurch street out of the village, past High School and
Community Centre, follow road for 2 miles, ignoring turning to Mickfield. Topthorn Equestrian
Centre is 1 mile at top of hill on your right hand side.
