The postholder will set up and manage communication, administration, funding and events to ensure timely and cost efficient delivery, raising the profile of Findacure: The Fundamental Diseases Partnership in the medical, patient, public and funding arenas. The postholder will have strong communication, organisation and administration skills in order to support the activities, as well as a good understanding of medical science. (S)he will be working closely with the Chairman in order to drive the objectives. Key Activities & First Year Objectives 1. Events organising: - Organise the First International Workshop on Fundamental Diseases, in Cambridge: find a venue, organise the speaking agenda, manage invitations, etc. - Organise a workshop for patients and relatives with fundamental diseases, in Cambridge: find a venue, organise the speaking agenda, manage invitations, etc. - Organise a reception on fundamental diseases at the Houses of Parliament. 2. Fundraising: - Initiate and manage a crowdfunding campaign on indiegogo.com to raise funds for and awareness of the charity. - Apply to trusts and foundations, including the Big Lottery Fund, for funding for projects and research. - Assist the Chairman and the board with organising meetings for raising funds from high net worth individuals. 3. Communications: - Manage the organisation’s website content and technical aspects. - Manage and grow our social media. - Work with board members to gain media exposure through press releases, interviews, etc. - Meet with patients, scientists and industry to build the Fundamental Diseases Partnership. 4. Administration and support: - Help organise meetings of the board of trustees. - Help organise meetings of the Scientific Advisory Board. - Recruit volunteers to support our work. - Carry out day-to-day administration for the charity.
