Three separate PGCE programmes are offered in the Education Department:
(1) PGCE (Foundation Phase): This is qualification for teaching in the primary school (Grades R-3).
(2) PGCE (Intermediate Phase): This is a qualification for teaching in the primary school (Grades 4-6).
(3) PGCE (FET): This is a qualification for teaching in high school – in the FET band (Grades 10-12) and the
Senior Phase (Grade 7-9).
