LAKESHORE FOUNDATION AQUATICS
Welcome to Lakeshore Foundation Aquatics Classes
Our Aquatics Center features two pools and a dedicated staff with decades of experience in aquatic
exercise and bodywork. Lifeguards remain on duty during open hours to ensure everyone’s safety.
The therapy pool, with its temperature of 92 to 94°F provides the ideal environment for strengthening
and stretching the body, particularly if a condition includes stiff joints and pain. Our therapy pool
classes focus on range of motion exercises, gait, balance, and strength. Some classes even include
gentle, aerobic conditioning.
The lap pool temperature ranges from 84 to 86°F. This temperature provides an ideal environment for
cardiovascular exercise. Three lanes provide space for swimmers. The lap pool also accommodates
kayaking and scuba diving classes, as well as competitive swim meets.
Because of our two pools and the depth of the aquatic staff’s passion and knowledge, we are able to
offer a broad array of aquatic classes. Each class is open to all of our members, even a class
designed for a specific diagnosis (e.g., the Parkinson’s Aquatic Class is available to persons who do
not have Parkinson’s disease). Please let our class descriptions guide you in choosing the best class
for your health and fitness needs.
