1st Meeting in Poland
The students learnt about the huge importance of water for human life when they visited a local
water supply and did some workshops there.

By visiting Wieliczka – a salt mine – the students learnt how salt is broken down from the mountains.
They now know more about this essential natural resource.

In the mineral water factory of Myszków the students were informed how mineral water and other
drinks that we consume in our daily life are produced.

2nd Meeting in Germany
The students learnt how to make basic water analysis. They were shown how to evaluate the results
by computer based methods. In preparation of the analysis students from all countries prepared a
multilingual list of names of characteristic organism that can occur in small rivers.

The students gained insight into the mechanical, biological and chemical purification of wasted water
in a wastewater treatment plant.

In several mini projects with biological background, like “What can live in a lake” (Spain) and “What
can live in a river?” (Romania). the students trained their ability to draw conclusion and present their
results.

German student presented their experiments on the influence of pollution for the growth of plants.
Hereby the students improved their environmental awareness.

3rd Meeting in Romania
The students enhanced their knowledge on the topic „Endangered species of animals“ all over
Europe. They developed their skills of research and presenting their results.

They visited a dog shelter and experienced the importance of caring for those needy animals.

4th Meeting in Italy
Plantings plants at Carducci School Yard was a nice piece of practical work to show students how
easy it is to make places nicer even in the middle of cities.

During a walk in the Parco Adige Sud the students could expand their knowledge about life in the
forest and the environment. Identifying plants in the forest helped them to their brush up their
biological ken.

At the Arsenale Centre the students learned how to use recycling materials (mainly of biological
origin) for creative re-use.

5th Meeting in Bulgaria
The students learnt about the qualities of natural materials and how to use them for handicrafts.
They created wall panels from natural materials, postcards, using hand-made paper with messages

during this Comenius Project.

The Students broadened up their knowledge about endangered species of plants during the project.

7th Meeting in Turkey
In a quiz show about project the students tested their increased knowledge about the environmental
topics including biological, chemical and geographical issues.
