ST ANNE’S COMMUNITY SERVICES
has been helping homeless and
disadvantaged people since 1971.
Christmas can be a time of isolation for
many people who use their services. If you would like to
help, you can donate unwrapped gifts such as socks, scarves,
gloves, torches, toiletries and non-perishable food in tins or
packets. No jumble please! They may be left in the
Cathedral in the box provided up to 19th December.
to
The prayer pilgrimage takes this
form.
Step 1: Please observe silence for at least two
minutes asking the Holy Spirit to meet you where
you are at this moment.
Step 2: Pray the prayer: Most Holy Spirit, come into
every part of my being and make it a temple for
Jesus Christ, to the glory of the Father. Pray for me,
Saint Paul to be a worthy instrument of the
Gospel. Amen.
Step 3: Read God's word from Saint Paul or the
Acts of the Apostles.
2 Corinthians 7: 1 “Fear of
the Lord”. You may repeat quietly what you have
read once or twice.
Step 4: Meditate on the word, words or phrases and
sentences that touched you.
Step 5: Ask the Holy Spirit to help you put into
action what He wants of you today.
Step 6: If you have a prayer journal, write some
your reflection and action in it at the close of the
day.
COFFEE IS SERVED in Wheeler Hall (next
door to the Cathedral, accessed via St
Anne’s Street) each Sunday after the 11am
Mass. All welcome, especially visitors and those
who are new to the Cathedral.
THE DVD ON PASTORAL REORGANISATION IN LEEDS
We’ll have a further opportunity to view this early in the New
Year followed by a feedback meeting. In the meantime,
please consider the Bishop’s 5 questions:
1. How effective is our mission?
2. What are our own needs?
3 How can we use our resources effectively?
4. Should some areas of the city be given a more
generous provision than others?
5. How do we serve our immigrant communities?
THE STREET CHAPLAINS will take to the streets again
from 10.00pm - 1.30am on Friday 12th & 19th
December. Details later. People are needed to work in
small groups or to staff the base at Holy Trinity Church.
If you can help, contact Rev Dr Adrian Burdon on 0113
275 2793, or e- mail: street.chaplains@btinternet.com
