Meeting Dates
The 45th ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC29/WG 1 (JPEG/JBIG) meeting will be held from Monday 7 to Friday 11 July 2008.
Meeting will start at 9:30 am Monday with the WG1 Opening Plenary and the meeting will conclude early Friday
afternoon.

There are few trains serving Futuroscope station. It is easier to take the TGV to Poitiers (~ every hour) and then take the

Registration & Facilities Fee
Delegates will be able to register for the meeting via the Registration Form attached, by fax or email. The registration
fee for the meeting is 400.00 € if registered by May 20. Attendees who register after this date will be charged a total
cost of 450.00 €. Registration on-site is not recommended but available for 550.00€. The registration fee includes:

all Coffee Breaks;

lunches (from Monday to Friday);

Social Event on Wednesday 9 (60€ for accompanying persons) ;

all meeting facilities, including a full day Wireless Access, A/V equipment for presentations and other business
services.
Cancellation made on or before June 15 will be refunded, less 50 € cancellation fee. All cancellation must be made in
writing, via email: please send the cancellation notice to larabi@sic.univ-poitiers.fr. You will receive an email
confirmation of your cancellation. Cancellations made after June 15 as well as no-show, are liable for the full
registration fees.

Social Event
The FNB is pleased to invite you to the “Marais Poitevin” (Green Venisa)
for the social on the Wednesday July 9th.
The proposed program is the following :
15h30 : guided tour of the House of the Wet Marshes (Maison des Marais
Mouillés).
17h00 : guided Walk on the “Pibalou” (small train of the Marsh).
19h00 : By night! With the visit at Dusk, under the colors of the sunset,
absorbed by wildlife, you will be sailing comfortably by a boatman-guide
on small waterways of the Marsh. If the world belongs to those who get up
early, the future is being built by those who go to bed late. A tasting

beverages and products will be offered to you during your tour aboard the boat. Duration: 1h30.
20h30 : Dinner at the Marsh restaurant with typical food from the poitevine area.
Excursions
In order to offer a pleasant stay to families or companions that will travel with delegates, each day are available on
request different excursions around Poitiers (Chavigny: medieval city, Abbey Church of Saint-Savin: UNESCO world
heritage, …) ; they will be managed by the Poitiers’ Tourism Office (http://www.ot-poitiers.fr).

General Information
Currency, Credit Cards and Banks
Local currency is the Euro. MasterCard and Visa are the most widely accepted CC, followed by American Express.
There are ATMs in many convenient locations that are accessible 24 hours a day. Cirrus and Plus are widely recognized
in Europe. Most credit cards also allow for cash advances as long as you know your personal identification number
(PIN). Another thing to keep in mind is that many European ATM’s will not accept debit/credit cards that have PIN
numbers longer than 5 digits or that begin with a zero, so get an appropriate PIN from your bank, if necessary. While
ATMs tend to be accessible 24 hours a day, banks in France are open Monday through Friday, usually from 9:00 a.m. to
5 p.m., although opening and closing hours vary slightly from bank to bank.
Most banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays & on public holidays.
Electricity
The electrical system in France is 220 volts. To use 120 volt appliances both a transformer and an adapter plug is
needed. Both of these can be purchased in electrical stores or travelers' shops before arriving in France (which is best)
or in France after you arrive.
Many electronic devices have "universal power supplies", which adjust automatically to differences in voltages and
frequency.
