LEP Testing Accommodations The North Carolina Testing Program allows the following testing accommodations for eligible limited English proficient students. These accommodations are approved for use on the North Carolina End-of-Grade Tests and the North Carolina End-of-Course Tests. English/Native Language Word-to-Word Bilingual Dictionary or Electronic Translator Multiple Testing Sessions Scheduled Extended Time Student Reads Test Aloud to Self Test Administrator Reads Test Aloud in English/Computer Reads Test Aloud - Online Testing in a Separate Room Be reminded that accommodation guidelines are provided based on considering the student’s linguistic needs as based on the students level of English proficiency and classroom interventions. The team/committee of school-based individuals who make testing accommodations decisions for students identified as LEP should take the following specific student background characteristics into consideration when determining accommodations.
