Classical Concerts Productions Ltd. Presents STANKOV ENSEMBLE STANKOV ENSEMBLE Vania Vatralova – Stankov – soprano Ivo Stankov – violin Lachezar Stankov – piano “The Trio performed the Spanish repertoire with finesse and style – the most memorable of the evening were De Falla’s ‘Seven Popular Songs’, exquisitely performed by Vania and Lachezar Stankov; Ravel’s ‘Tsigane’ where Ivo Stankov’s playing was spirited and temperamental, and Lachezar Stankov’s dazzling performance of ‘Sevilla’ from the Suite ‘España’ by Albeniz. In the arias the singer showed the quality of her voice and the intelligent use of timbre, strength and dynamics. At the end of the concert we heard the Suite ‘España’ by Chabrier arranged for voice, violin and piano – original and effective.” ‘Kultura’ Newspaper, Sofia Classical Concerts Productions Ltd. www.classicalconcertsproductions.com, Email: info@classicalconcertsproductions.com 64 Wales Farm Road, London, W3 6UE, UK, Tel/Fax: +44 (0) 208 99 21 327 Classical Concerts Productions Ltd. Following a frantic ‘phone call I was recommended to contact a violinist, a certain Ivo Stankov, and so it was that at such short notice I engaged this unknown performer for a lunchtime recital. Thus began my association with the Stankov family and I was not to regret it. The concert was a great success and I remember particularly his setting aside the music stand for the last item and giving a stunning rendition of a Bulgarian Rhapsody, which earned him a standing ovation. Such was the quality of his playing that I had no hesitation in asking him to return in following years, although this was not always possible due to his ever increasing concert commitments both in the UK and Europe. In 2006 Ivo’s wife Vania came to us, thrilling us with her strong operatic voice with the duo of violin and voice forming a perfect musical combination and in the spring of 2010 we were enchanted by The Stankov Ensemble of voice, violin and piano (Ivo’s brother Lachezar) forming the perfect trio. At each of their performances, whether as soloist, duo or trio the Stankov family have made a lasting impression on our audiences and I am constantly being asked when they will return. What most appeals is the sheer quality and professionalism of performance, the variety and interest of their programmes and the rapport they have with our audience, this latter not always an easy thing to achieve. From a personal point of view I find the family very cooperative and easy to work with, even when they are under pressure with other musical commitments. I wish I could say this about all my concert artists.
