Categories and Format of Competition
Mini Miss and Little Miss will model a pageant dress and have a 15-second self introduction.
Attire: Pageant or Sunday dress
Junior and Miss divisions will have a 15-second self introduction,
sportswear, interview and evening gown.
Attire: Long Pageant or Prom Dress; Tailored Sportswear
(something you might wear to a semi-formal weekend function)
As this event will be representing the Lyford CISD and will be on school grounds, all dress codes
must be followed. Failure to adhere to dress codes will result in a contestant being disqualified.
Junior and Miss divisions will introduce themselves during the sportswear competition. The
interview will take place during the evening gown competition. Questions will be taken from the
applicant’s entry form ~ There will be NO SURPRISES.
***All contestants and at least one parent MUST attend the mandatory information
meeting on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00pm in the Lyford Bandhall
(next door to the cafetorium).

***All contestants will receive a certificate for participating***
There will be a “Crown Miss,” a first runner up, and a second runner up in each category. In addition,
audience members may purchase votes for $1 each to vote for their favorite contestant in each category for
the “People’s Choice” winner.
Each paid entry will receive a ballot to vote for candidates on the following categories:
“Prettiest Smile”, “Best Hair”, “Miss Congeniality”, “Most Photogenic”, “Best Gown”, “Best
Sportswear” (Jr Miss and Miss)
Rules/Regulations

Contestants must be a current student at Lyford CISD. A current copy of a report
card must be submitted with the entry fee as proof of a student’s enrollment.

Contestants must be in good standing with the school (no ISS/OSS/DAEP)

Score sheets will be mailed out to those contestants who enclose a self addressed
stamped envelope along with their application fee and entry form.

Previous title winners will need to wait one year before entering again.

Current members of the LHS Band are prohibited from entering.

The director reserves the right to change the agenda of the pageant as well as the
competition groups to accommodate the number of entries received.

Judges’ decisions are final and any show of poor sportsmanship from contestants
and/or audience members will result in disqualification of the contestant without a
refund of fees from the pageant related event.

Director, LHS band members, and the LCISD are not responsible for any
accident, injury or theft that occurs to and from the pageant.
