Francis 'Frank' V. DeYorio, 95 Retired insurance executive NORTH ATTLEBORO - Francis Vincent DeYorio, of Oak Knoll Drive, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly on March 29, 2011, at his residence at the age of 95. He was the beloved husband of the late Flora Marie (Dion) DeYorio to whom he was married on Aug. 16, 1941, and who died on March 10, 2007. Born in Manhattan on Sept. 4, 1915, he was a son of Italian immigrants, the late Pasquale and Livia (Lombardi) DeYorio. He was educated in the Bronx and left in 1932 to attend preparatory school in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he graduated in 1934. He enrolled in Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md., and graduated in 1938 with an A.B. degree. Mr. DeYorio then enrolled in St. John's University where he attended for three years and left to enter the U.S. Coast Guard and serve his country during the World War II era. Mr. DeYorio left college one semester shy of obtaining his jurist doctorate degree. He was employed by John Hancock Insurance Co. from 1946 until his retirement in March 1977, having served the company in a variety of executive capacities. A resident of North Attleboro since 1941, he and his wife enjoyed many winters in Clearwater, Fla. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in North Attleboro. Mr. DeYorio and his wife were former members of the Highland Country Club in Attleboro and the Cove Coy Country Club in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. DeYorio enjoyed traveling extensively including trips to Italy, England and Switzerland. He leaves a daughter: Joyce A. Hayman-Devolve and her husband, Jeffrey Devolve, of Attleboro; a son: Steven F. DeYorio and his wife, Wanda (Skolski) DeYorio, of North Attleboro; two grandchildren: Daniel E. Hayman of Attleboro and Natasha Mackey of Attleboro; a great-granddaughter: Jemma Marie Mackey of Attleboro; a sister: Angela DiStefano of Orlando, Fla., and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was the father of the late David DeYorio who died on Jan. 12, 2002. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, April 15, 2011, at 10 a.m., in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro, with the Rev. David A. Costa, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Please do not send flowers.
