Hi Dan,
I got back to your Web site and downloaded the Family Group Sheet form this week and
have assembled what I THINK is pretty much what I have on my grandmother (Grace
Breyfogle) and our family. Can you let me know your address so I can put them into the
mail for you this week?
I think it's going to be confusing to some degree (not the least of which being my sloppy
penmanship!), so I've attached a Word document outline of the family tree starting with
Grace and working down to the present day. Because we're tracing a long line of female
relatives, the work sheets were sort of backwards for my purposes, so this listing might
help you get the sheets in order. It doesn't help that my mother was a Jones who married
a Jones (her first husband, my father), but that aside, you may be so experienced at
deciphering these family outlines that you won't need a roadmap.
I also have some notes about my grandmother that I'll finish this week and attach in
another email. Over the years, I've heard a great deal about her and even though she died
many years before I was born, I have several familiy documents, etc., from her lifetime.
In addition, my mother is still alive and at 92 is doing exceptionally well. Her memory is
not perfect now, but in many cases she can help "reconstruct" things that I've not been
able to find or learn about.
I also may be able to get more information about Lewis Breyfogle's son Warren, who
came out here to Los Angeles to live in the early part of the last century. My mother has
given me a few tidbits of information that I may follow up in census materials.
Two corrections I have for your site on what I know about Grace and her family: Her
birthday is listed as November 15, but it is, in fact, November 13. You'll see in the notes
when I send them later that I have an engraved cameo brooch from her birthday in 1907
with that date. (Rootsweb has the date wrong, too.) Also, her mother's middle initial was
A., and not M. Both the 1880 census and William Cutler's History of the State of Kansas
list her as Laura A. Pennock.
Please let me know where to send the sheets, and I'll be glad to answer any questions you
have when you receive them.
