There is a storm, so the ships arrive in Cyprus instead. Queen B: What are going to do? I’m so scared!!!! Queen J: Me too! What shall we do? Queen B: Let’s go and ask the captain. Captain: Don’t be scared. We will stop in Limassol, a port in Cyprus. 1 SCENE 2 Isaac Comnenus, the ruler of Cyprus, wants to hold the Queens for ransom. Issac: Welcome to Cyprus, my Queens. Come ashore to my castle for a grand dinner and you can rest for the night. Then you can be on your way. Queen B: Thank you my Lord. Queen J: I think we will stay on board tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Queen B: Why did you say that? Queen J: We can’t trust him. He might be tricking us? Queen B: How? Queen J: He might want King Richard to pay ransom for us. Queens: Oohh!! Oohh! SCENE 3 King Richard arrives just in time. King R: What is the matter my Queens? Queen B: We’re so scared! King R: Why? Queen J: We’re scared of Isaac Comnenus. King R: Why? Queen B: We think that he wanted to hold us for ransom. King R: I wouldn’t let him do that. Don’t worry. I’ll take my soldiers, we’ll capture him and throw him in prison. I’ll show, no one should mess with me. The little wimp! Queens: Thank you my King! 2 SCENE 4 Queen Berengaria marries King Richard in a chapel in Limassol. King R: My dear Queen Berengaria, will you marry me? Queen B: Yes, of course I will. In the chapel. Priest: Will you King Richard, take Queen Berengaria to be, your lawful, wedded wife? King R: Yes, I will. Queen B: Yes, I will. Richard fell ill shortly after his wedding. King R: My Queen, I don’t feel very well. Queen B: I will look after you my love, don’t worry. SCENE 5 Issac is hiding in Kantara Castle. His friend Guy de Lusignan takes his army to the castle. Guy: Let’s march my men, to Kantara castle. We will capture that little rat that little coward, Isaac. Isaac: Please! Please! Don’t chain me in irons, chain me in silver. Guy: You’re a little coward and a rat but I’ll give you your wish. 3 SCENE 6 King Richard stayed in Cyprus for one year. He didn’t want to keep Cyprus because the people of Cyprus kept on fighting against him. King R: I’m tired of these Cypriots and their revolts. Enough! I’ll sell Cyprus to you. Knights of T: Ok, we will buy it. Let’s hope it’s not too much trouble for us. The Knights of Templar kept Cyprus for a while and sold it back to King Richard. Knights of T: We don’t want Cyprus any more. It’s too much trouble. You can have it back. King R: Well, if you don’t want Cyprus then I’ll better take it. I’ll sell it to my good old friend Guy de Lusignan. THE END 4
