ELINDA ANN WING APPALACHIAN GLOBAL LEADERSHIP FUND
GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION
Application Deadline: 5pm, Friday, November 6, 2015
Notification of Awards by: Monday, November 16, 2015
Eligibility
An Applicant:
1. Must be currently enrolled for admission at OHIO and in the Global Leadership
Certificate Program.
2. Must have a FAFSA on file and qualify for need-based financial support.
3. Must be a resident of one of the Ohio counties designated as Appalachian as
determined by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
4. Must be applying to or participating in a required GLC international experience
prior to August 2016. Acceptance to your international program is not required
to be considered for this award
Grant Amount
Two $250 scholarships will be awarded and will be applied to your student
account in the term in which you are billed for your international experience.
This award will only be applied if you participate on the program.
Selection Criteria:
1. Completed Global Leadership Center Travel Support Fund Application.
2. Financial need as determined by FAFSA.
3. 500-word, double-spaced essay responding to the following: Explain your
understanding of the concept of global leadership and cultural diversity and then
describe how your international experience would assist you in becoming a
global person and broaden your worldview.
4. Two academic references: one should be from a member of the GLC leadership
and the second should be a non-GLC-affiliated academic reference.
Completed applications, including 500-word essay, must be submitted to
global.opportunities@ohio.edu by 5:00 p.m. EST on November 6, 2015. Please note that
your application will not be considered complete unless all required items, including two
letters of references, are submitted by the deadline.
