As a result of the changes in the past month in commodity prices, focus and outlook
(Aug 12, USDA Report, CRP, and CFTC decisions) SMS is planning a one-day US/S.
America Outlook meeting highlighted by special guests from Brazil.
Corporate representatives from SLC Brazil (www.slcagricola.com) will present an
outlook for Brazilian Ag Economy, insights of potential planting mix for crop year
2009, and the ethanol situation. This will be a rare opportunity to listen and discuss
with producers from a large scale operation covering nearly every state in Brazil.
Additional speakers will include Roger Wallace reviewing livestock and
commodities; a look into Sept weather; and Roy Huckabay and Gordy Linn of Linn
Group will offer Supply & Demand Outlook with Jerry Gulke doing the wrap-up.
This should be a timely meeting with excellent information regarding US and
Brazilian Outlook for 2009. Seating may be limited, so registration will be on a firstcome-first serve basis—acts quickly.
Sunday, August 24: Social reception held at SMS-Chicago Office from 5-8 pm.
Monday, August 25: Full-day session starting at 8:00 am and ending around 4 pm.
