2014 EAA Formations

INTRODUCTION
The Wildcat Multiple Offense includes a variety of formations, series, scheme concepts,
plays and pass patterns. Through this variety we have the ability to attack the weaknesses
of any defensive alignment. This multiplicity allows us many offensive alternatives.
Passing, running, ball control and big gainers are all a part of this offensive system. Our
own team talents, defensive strengths and weaknesses and field conditions will all
influence our offensive game planning. This offensive system has the ability to be
modified from season to season depending on personnel, usually additions are made
within the season and often variations take place from week to week. This flexibility is
possible because of a simple, basic organizational system that allows us to keep things
simple for our offense, while creating the impression of complexity for our opponents.
ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEM
The offensive plays are organized into three basic parts. In order to best use the talents of
our players and to take advantage of match-ups with the defense, formations will be
developed with personnel groupings. The formation is given by name and direction,
the first number is the run game series or pass drop/protection and additional
number(s) indicate the point of attack or route concept. Ex.- Ace R 44: 1 RB, 2 TE
formation, Zone concept, and the 4 hole is the point of attack; Doubles Right 76 Curl:
1 RB, 4 WR formation, 5 step, slide protection, curl concept.
POINT OF ATTACK NUMBERS
Odd numbers are to the left; even numbers are to the right. The point of attack is called
over a man, not to a gap. Often running plays will include a descriptive word as well.

FORMATIONS
* FORMATION DIRECTION TELLS THE Y RECEIVER WHERE TO ALIGN,
EXCEPT IN TREY
* Y AND Z ALIGN TO THE SAME SIDE, EXCEPT IN TREY
* TREY SIGNIFIES THAT THE Y IS BY HIMSELF, WITH THE THREE
RECEIVERS TO THE CALL SIDE
* WE HAVE PROVIDED 7 FORMATIONS – START WITH YOUR COMFORT
LEVEL AND ADD AS YOU GO. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF OUR
OTHER FORMATIONS, CONTACT COACH SUTTON OR COACH WISNIEWSKI
