Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport José Martího 31, 162 52 Prague 6 tel. 220 172 004 Contract of Doctoral Studies (to be referred to as Contract) concluded in conformity with regulations of the law nr. 111/1998Col. on universities, Status of Charles University and Status of FPES between contracting parties: 1. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, based in José Martího 31, Prague 6, deputized by doc. MUDr. Eva Kohlíková, CSc., faculty dean, to be referred to as CU FPES and 2. name: born: domicile: to be referred to as postgraduate student. Article. I Subject of Contract Subject of this Contract is provision of DS at CU FPES in accredited fields of kinanthropology and biomechanics. Article II Obligations of contracting parties 1. CU FPES is obliged to organizationally and knowledgeably provide studies for accepted students. According to available possibilities postgraduate students will be given or provided with information in their field of study, they will also be enabled to join in the professional life of the training workplace and the faculty of scientific research. 2. Postgraduate student is obliged to obey the University Law, the CU Study Order and other regulations and mainly fulfil his/her study and research programme. Students of present-day studies are obliged to conform with the character of doctoral studies regularly and intensively participate in the scientific life at CU FPES. Studies and research are realized mainly at CU FPES, or at other research workplaces whose activity is related to the subject of student's dissertation project. Students of combined-plan studies realize this only according to the extent of their time possibilities. After fulfilling the responsibilities given by the individual DS programme the postgraduate student takes the state doctoral examination. After closing the research programme and concluding the project the postgraduate student applies for defending his/her dissertation work. 3. If the postgraduate student is a grant researcher, i.e. he/she has been assigned financial means in order to realize a research project or task, he/she is fully responsible for their purposeful usage and economical evaluation to the grant awarding authority. The grant accountancy is being kept by the faculty economic department, the postgraduate student is obliged to respect the Accountancy Law as amended, the regulation of CU FPES on financing and grants book-keeping and present required documents to the faculty economic department. If the postgraduate student him/herself is not a grant researcher and only participates in solving a research task or project as a part of the research team, he/she has the right to handle only those financial means that have been purposefully entrusted to him/her by another grant researcher (e.g. tutor), towards whom he/she is obliged to supply a properly documented statement of provided financial means. 4. During his/her activity at the training workplace the postgraduate student is obliged to respect the rules of the training workplace given by the Labour Code, other legal university and faculty norms and regulations and obligations resulting from this Contract and furthermore instructions of his/her tutor, the head of department and the head of the training workplace. Article III Study period and financial provision of a present-day postgraduate student According to the University Law 111/98Col. the present-day form of DS takes four years at the most. During the period of time of the present-day studies the postgraduate student receives a scholarship. A potential discontinuance must be announced by the postgraduate students to the training workplace, or the research department with one-month notice in order to interrupt the scholarship payment during the period of time of the discontinuance. Article IV Postgraduate student's legal status A postgraduate student is a part of the academic community of the faculty. From the viewpoint of the legal relationship to the faculty, postgraduate students have the same status as students of bachelor's and master's programmes including the damage responsibility according to the reg. §27 the government regulation nr. 108/94 Col. by which the Labour Code is carried out. Article V Termination of doctoral studies Doctoral studies are terminated by passing the state doctoral examination and defending the dissertation work. The study can be terminated before taking the state doctoral examinations by a written announcement by the student or a written decision by the faculty dean and exceeding the period of time for studies stated in law 111/98 Col. on universities. After termination of studies for any reasons the postgraduate student is obliged to settle all obligations towards the training workplace; mainly to return borrowed instruments, professional literature, output card and pay potential damages. Article VI Final provisions The Contract comes into force by the time of its signing and becomes effective by the time of the student's enrolment for the study.
