Music in real time a miasma of jazz fusion, microtonal rock and post-pubescent pop staining the fabric of mass culture Next Order Live-Powered Nexus Next Order has been cooking up hot, tasty jazz-rock fusion since their formation in 2002. Heavy touring in Japan has cemented their reputation for wild yet disciplined instrumental rock, jazz and improvisation. With an aggressive sound somewhere between "Blow By Blow" era Jeff Beck and a jazz tinged Metallica, Next Order has shared the bill with heavyweights like Gongzilla, Tribal Tech and African Express Trio. Next Order brings together 4 Japanese virtuousos: guitarists Yuji Muto & Takumi Seino, bassist Atsutomo Ishigaki, and drummer Gori Matsuda. Guitarist Yuji Muto is a graduate of the GIT Musicians Institute and played with bassist Ishigaki in the band Out Of Order. His playing is fluid and fearless, leaping difficult time signatures in a single bound! Guitarist Takumi Seino is a graduate of Berklee and recorded with drummer Matsuda in Six North. Seino can also be heard CDs by Arc, and Drops Trio. Seino's fretboard must be fireproof, as his playing isn't just hot, it's volcanic. Solid, melodic, adventurous, bassist Atsutomo Ishigaki, like bandmate Seino, is also a graduate of Berklee. In addition to playing with Muto in Out Of Order, Ishigaki has lent his vast talents to innovative legends S.B.B. Often called the busiest drummer in Western Japan, Hiroshi "Gori" Matsuda can be heard with Six North and Drops Trio. His playing recalls the glory days of Blue Note jazz at Van Gelder studios with a sensibility that isn't just now, it's tomorrow! Live-Powered Nexus, Next Order's US debut on LoLo Records, is a live recording strong as 4 shots of Jack. The CD is set up to let you hear Yuji Muto's guitar in the right channel and Takumi Seino's in the left. Atsutomo Ishigaki's bass and Gori Matsuda's drums sit solidly in the middle. Pieces like "Aggressive Continuity" and "Deadline Pressure" are jaw dropping smacks to the chest, while "Blue Stone" twists like an aural snake - slow and sinuous. Fans of artists as diverse as Allan Holdsworth, Brand X, King Crimson, Mike Stern, John Zorn, Napalm Death and Metallica will find much to thrill to!
