Specification
1. Introduction
1.1. Northumberland County Council is seeking to appoint contractors to provide a
Grave Digging Machine to the Council.
2. Scope of Work
2.1.
The contract will encompass the following
2.1.1. Build and supply of (one) x Grave Digging Machine to the
specifications required.
2.2.
The exact breakdown of the requirements is not known and in light of
the current financial situation the Council reserves the right to reduce
or increase the quantity of vehicles/equipment/service level required.
2.3.
Full vehicle specification requirements can be found below at items 5.
2.4.
The council reserves the right to make any adjustments necessary to
the specification to ensure delivery of the correct vehicle or equipment
3. Vehicle Build Requirements
3.1.
Northumberland County Council will require complete vehicle/equipment
conversions, supply or fitting as part of the procurement.
3.2.
The contractor will be responsible for the full vehicle/equipment build
conversion and delivery of this to Northumberland County Council.
3.3.
Delivery of equipment will be to Council depots across Northumberland,
details of which will be confirmed to the successful tenderer.
3.4.
The completed vehicles/equipment is required for immediate grave digging
works. With this in mind the Council would require delivery of the equipment
as soon as possible or as directed by fleet operations staff.

4. General Details
4.1.
All conversions must comply with all relevant legislation
4.2.
All lights and markings must conform to all current construction and use
regulations
4.3.
All details of all conversion warranties must be supplied
4.4.
All vehicle/ equipment builds must be supplied with all applicable manuals,
service guides & parts books
4.5.
Operator familiarisation training must be provided by the Contractor for all
types of vehicle/equipment supplied. Training is required for drivers, crews
and workshop personnel (based on 6 staff per vehicle per vehicle
delivered)
4.6.
Mechanic general/preventative maintenance and fault finding training must
be provided for workshop personnel (6 mechanics in total)
4.7.
Training is to be held at Council depots within Northumberland
4.8.
Certification of training is required
4.9.
A pre build meeting will be held to discuss details of final requirements and
layout

Grave Digging Machine for use in various cemetery’s
throughout rural and urban areas of Northumberland.

Grave digging operations, some with restrictions due to existing
grave plots.
