In Transylvania, everything seemed very strange. There were mountains, thick
forests and fast-flowing rivers. Castles stood on high rocks. Dracula lived in
one of the castles there. Mina Murray, was Jonathan Harker’s fiancée.
Jonathan Harker was going to marry Mina. He was a young solicitor and went
to do business with Dracula. Actually, Jonathan went to Dracula’s castle.
Dracula spoke English, Jonathan was very surprised at it. Dracula’s face was
unusual: a strong, well-shaped nose, very pointed ears, red lips and sharp,
white teeth. Dracula liked blood, and he couldn’t be seen in a looking glass.
Dracula slept in a box like coffin- blown, made of wood, a box shape. This was
Dracula’s bed. Finally, Dracula didn’t kill Mina and Jonathan and also didn’t
drink their blood. The long teeth, the unnatural color of the skin, the strange
look in her eye had gone. She had been saved. Jonathan also thought that the
happiness they had at that moment was worth it. This was the note that
Jonathan wrote after seven years. He memorized that summer in Transylvania.
It was impossible to believe that what they saw had really existed. Those
horrors in Transylvania had been disappeared.
I like horror, mystery stories, strange stories, ghost stories very much. So I
read the story of Dracula. At the beginning, I felt a bit excited. I am very
interested in Dracula ‘s face and personality. Dracula lived in a castle. I think
he must be handsome ,clean and a gentleman. As the book has illustrations,
readers may think that Dracula’s face is ugly or strange. But I think he is
handsome, exactly like a vampire as I think: red lips, white teeth, pointed ears.
That’s my impression of Dracula in the castle. Actually the story was a love
story. Probably Dracula loved Mina so he saved her. Dracula didn’t drink her
blood, and didn’t make her to become a vampire.
The outlook of people cannot tell whether he is kind-hearted or wicked. Only
people’s behavior and action can tell. Vampire has his own feelings too. Thus I
like the story very much.
