The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre – Riyadh is JCIA accredited and operates 677 beds
with approximately 8,700 employees. Located in the capital of Saudi Arabia, the hospital provides a full
range of tertiary, secondary and primary health care programs at its main campus facility, as well as the
King Fahad National Children’s Cancer Centre and the Al Yamamah Royal Clinic. The KFSHRC is the national
referral center for Oncology; Organ Transplantation; Cardiovascular Diseases; and, Genetic Diseases.
Affiliated with the King Saud University (Faculty of Medicine), the hospital’s postgraduate education
programs support both Residency and Fellowship training. The King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research
Centre is seeking qualified candidates for the position of:
Chairman, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Department comprises three sub-specialty sections: Gynecologic Oncology; Perinatology; and,
Reproductive Medicine. Annually, there are 1600 deliveries (70% high-risk pregnancies) and over 5,000
obstetric ultrasound studies. A large number of invasive prenatal procedures are performed annually
including blood sampling and/or transfusions, and CVS amniocentesis. The Department supports an active
IVF Program, including a program for pre-implementation genetic diagnosis utilizing advanced technology
and staff with international expertise. These programs and services are all supported by state-of-the-art
technologies in the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre – Riyadh.
Qualified candidates will have graduated from an accredited medical school, with the completion of the
required period of post graduate training in the specialty and subspecialty of obstetrical and gynecological
diseases. Arab or American Board certification, or membership and/or Fellowship status in the United
Kingdom or Canada, or their equivalent is required. To be successful in the role of Chairman, you must have
earned your credibility as a senior clinician within your peer group. You have demonstrated your
accomplishments in the fields of both teaching and research. As the successful candidate, you will bring a
solid track record of setting strategic vision, leading and executing clinical advances, and above all,
delivering results.
