Act 1 of 2006 Update The 2006-2007 school year should prove to be interesting with the implementation of Act 1 of 2006 over the summer (see www.pde.state.pa.us/proptax/site/default.asp for more information). School districts are now required to reform their tax structure and all are in the process of establishing Local Tax Study Commissions, required for implementation by September 14 th. Efforts have been underway over the summer by PenSPRA members, working in conjunction with PASBO, to provide communication tools to assist school districts with referendum and community engagement, to name a few. PenSPRA will be providing resources for your school district and organization with this new challenge, along with the many other communication issues throughout the school year. 6. Public Relations Manager: Full-time position for large, complex education agency in central PA. Responsible for public relations, promotion, customer service, and legislative liaison.
