Where can I find all of the documents that I need to complete and submit?

You can access them from the LPDC tab located on the district’s intranet .

What should I do now that I have received my new license?

You need to complete a new IPDP to apply to your next renewal. It is recommended that you submit your new plan within 90 days of receiving your new license.

What is a SMART goal?

It is a goal that you will develop in correlation with the Ohio Educator Standards. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-based, Time-bound.

Should my SMART goals relate to my current assignment?

Yes.

What if I have to renew more than one license?

Write goals and choose coursework that can be applied to all areas of licensure as well as your current assignment.

Where can I get help writing the goals for my IPDP?

You can refer to the chart regarding writing SMART goals that is provided in the IPDP document.

What will happen if I fail to get preapproval of coursework or a professional development activity?

The committee reserves the right to reject your coursework or professional development activity if it has not been preapproved, which may result in having to choose another course or activity.

This may delay the approval process and the renewal of your license.

How many hours of coursework and / or Professional Development Units (PDUs) do I need to complete in order to renew my license?

6 semester hours of coursework or 180 PDUs or a combination of both, using this formula:

30 PDUs = 1 semester hour

60 PDUs = 2 semester hours; etc.

I have completed my coursework / professional development activity, now what should I do?

1.

You must complete an evaluation for each course / professional development activity which you attended, and electronically submit it to the LPDC.

You must request that official transcripts (for semester hours) be mailed to Susan Cantanzriti at the Administration Building. Send verification of PDUs to Susan Cantanzriti at the

Administration Building.

3.

You must complete and electronically submit a Professional Development Log which lists all of the coursework / professional development activities you have attended.

How will I know that my IPDP has been approved or rejected?

The LPDC committee will notify you by email whether or not your IPDP has been approved or rejected.

My IPDP has been approved, now what do I do?

Submit preapproval forms for any coursework / professional development activities prior to registering for them.

Do I need to submit my materials prior to the LPDC meeting?

Yes. Materials must be received at least 5 days prior to the meeting scheduled in order for the committee to review them. If your materials are not received 5 days prior to the meeting, they will be held until the following meeting.

How should I submit my IPDP and other required documents?

All LPDC documents, with the exception of official transcripts and verification of participation certificates, must be submitted electronically to cantanzriti@sel.k12.oh.us.

Do I need to submit preapproval forms prior to attending district sponsored professional development activities?

No. Since you are required to attend these activities by the district, you will only need to electronically submit an Evaluation of Course / Professional Development Activity form and send verification of participation certificates to Susan Cantanzriti at the Administration Building.

When do I electronically submit my Professional Development Log?

Your Professional Development Log must be submitted electronically when all coursework and / or professional development activities have been completed.

When do I arrange to send transcripts and verification of participation certificates?

Upon completion of all required coursework and / or professional development activities, official transcripts and / or verification of participation certificates must be sent directly to Susan

Cantanzriti at the Administration Building.
