There will be an opening cocktail reception with light meal/ heavy Hors d'Oeuvres on 19 June at 7:00 p.m., at le Meridian N’Fis, Marrakech.
All participants need to register on 19
June at L e Meridian N’Fis.
Registration will be open on that day from 2:00 p.m.
We recommend that you make arrangements before you leave home to have adequate personal funds with you. These should be in an easily convertible currency in order to pay for any expenses you incur during your stay in
Marrakech, Morocco. The current exchange rates for US Dollars and Euros to Morocco
Dirhams (MAD) are as follows:
US Dollars 1 MAD = 0.1123 USD 1 USD = 8.9065 MAD
Euro 1 EUR = 11.014 MAD 1 MAD = 0.09 EUR
Participants will be provided with transportation between the hotel and the airport so please be sure to forward us your flight details.
For the duration of the meeting (June 19 – 23,
2006), you will be staying at Le Meridien N’Fis
Marrakech. The sponsors will cover the cost of your single room accommodation, which includes breakfast. Lunch will be provided during the course of the forum (20 June – 22
June). And Dinner will be provided Tuesday
20 June and Thursday 22 June.
Guests may check in at 2:00 p.m., Monday 19
June and must check out by 12:00 p.m. on
Friday 23 June. Please make arrangements directly with the hotel for early arrival and/or late check out.
If you wish to arrive earlier, or stay longer than the above mentioned dates for reasons not related to the meeting, it will be necessary for you to arrange lodging for those days, directly with the hotel, at your own expense. If your early arrival or late departure is due to flight restrictions the sponsors will cover the cost of the additional nights and per diem.
In addition to your accommodation and meals as described above, you will receive a lump sum amount for incidentals expenses equivalent to US$20 for conference days and
US$40 for non conference days. This allowance is intended to cover meals, telephone calls, laundry and other miscellaneous expenses. Please note that this allowance is not meant to cover international phone calls, personal travel or purchases.
This allowance will be paid to you during registration on 19 June.
The Meeting sponsors will provide you with a round trip economy/excursion class airline ticket by the most direct route to enable you to travel from your duty station to Marrakech,
Morocco.
Should you wish to travel by an indirect route, or by means of transportation other than what the sponsors authorize, you must pay the
additional cost at the time you receive your ticket. We have no objection if your ticket is upgraded at other than the sponsors’ expense.
Any expenses related to passports, visas, airport taxes. should be paid for either by you or by your institution and will be reimbursed at the time of the conference.

A number of minimal precautions should be taken, particularly in the south: avoid water from oueds (rivers) and itinerant water sellers.
Refresh yourself with bottled spring water: Sidi
Harazem and Sidi Ali are still waters, while
Oulmès is sparkling. If you are prone to intestinal problems, take an appropriate medicine with you. Make enquiries before swimming in a oued (river) or a lake. Take precautions against insect bites and sunburn.
