PRESS RELEASE Tailored to the Needs of Commercial Usage: Solar Thermal Packages Made by Schüco San Francisco, July 14 – Anyone who wants to install and operate a thermal solar system and to make no compromises regarding reliability, functionality, and service will find the answer in Schüco USA’s new Commercial and Residential Solar Thermal Packages. The packages, presented for the first time at Intersolar North America 2009 in San Francisco, are optimally tailored to the requirements of commercial usage. The Solar Thermal Packages of the complete provider Schüco are equipped with high-quality components and contain every necessary part of a solar preheat system. An advantage for end consumers: All of the U.S.-manufactured components and services come from one source. Solar Large Volume Storage Tanks The trouble-free commercial packages consist of large hot water collectors with an output of up to 2.2 kWTH, a number of Balance of System (BOS) components and Schüco Solar Large Volume Storage Tanks. There are three versions of the latter: solar potable water storage tanks (designed for use with direct glycol solar hot water system designs), buffer tanks, and preheat tanks (indirect glycol solar hot water). All of these types of hot water tanks are offered in various sizes, from 200 to 1,200 gallons. The tanks, which are made and tested in the U.S. and easy to install, fulfill all performance criteria in terms of quality, efficiency, and corrosion standards. Large Area Heat Transfer Stations In addition, Schüco has added Commercial Large Area Heat Transfer Stations to its product portfolio, which obviates the need to buy and install hydraulic control units. The Heat Transfer Stations consist, among other things, of highly efficient heat exchangers, pumps, valves, level indicators, and air separators. The Heat Transfer Station Schüco PS 2.2. LF 100 US is a compact system of hydraulic pumps for large solar installations with a collector area of up to 1,080 square feet (100 square meters). The system includes an integrated solar heat exchanger as well as pumps for solar and buffer circuits. The compact construction is simple and space saving and reduces heat loss thanks to thermal insulation. The Schüco PS 2.2 LF 170 US is suitable for even larger applications – the modular system for solar installations or solar cooling is designed for collector surfaces of up to 1,830 square feet. The new products augment what is already the largest portfolio of standardized commercial storage systems of any company in the American solar industry. Schüco has been successfully operating in the U.S. solar market for over three years now. At its U.S. locations in Newington, CT and Union City, CA, the company is setting standards and showing that urgently needed climate protection and economic success are not mutually exclusive. Promoting the use of environmentally friendly, renewable energies has been a primary aim of the company for many years. Intersolar North America 2009 in San Francisco will be another important milestone for the building specialist Schüco USA.
