Responsible for daily operations of the Nephrology Division, including the Kidney Center, Dialysis
Unit, and Kidney Transplant Department. Provide support and oversight for all division operations
including personnel management, fiscal management, and utilization of resources to ensure safe and
effective patient care which optimizes the patient experience. Collaborate with Division Chief and
Service Line Director to develop and implement programs related to regulatory readiness, patient
access, patient satisfaction and service excellence, staff retention, and patient education. Serve as a
liaison between the provider groups and the division staff to advance relationships and encourage a

Ambulatory Nurse Manager (2008-2015)

Dialysis Nurse Case Manager (2006-2008)

Responsible for total coordination of care for pediatric dialysis patients including scheduling and
facilitating monthly dialysis clinic visits, tracking lab values and medications, ensuring all doctor's
orders are carried out in a timely manner, reviewing all aspects of dialysis patient care with the
multidisciplinary team twice a month, coordination of care with other disciplines (procedures,
appointments, consults), and managing daily patient needs (medication refills, emotional support, and
education). Performed dialysis procedures including in center (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis),
inpatient dialysis (CVVH, cyclic peritoneal dialysis, neonatal peritoneal dialysis, and intermittent
hemodialysis), assisting with bedside placement of acute catheters in the PICU, overseeing the
placement of peritoneal dialysis catheters in the operating room, central line dressing and line care, and
peritoneal dialysis catheter dressing and catheter care. Leadership of others including serving as a
charge nurse, providing staff education (emergency airway management, hand hygiene), and acting as
a superuser for Cerner.
Staff Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (2004-2006)
Overland Park Regional Medical Center
Overland Park, Kansas
Responsible for care of the neonate from birth to discharge in a level III neonatal intensive care unit.
Utilized nursing knowledge and skills to provide complete nursing care to critically ill infants
including ventilator care, umbilical venous and arterial lines, venous/arterial/capillary blood draws,
medication administration (IV and PO), physical assessment and monitoring, facilitating feedings via
NG/OG tube, placing peripheral IVs, monitoring blood glucose levels, complete discharge teaching for
families, and providing emotional support to families of ill infants when needed.
Assistant Office Manager (2001-2003)

Shared managerial duties with medical practice office manager. Duties included selecting a medical
office software program and implementing the program in the office, payroll, insurance enrollment
(for employees), management of insurance plan participation (for the practice), billing inquiries, filing
insurance appeals, hiring of new employees, knowledge of OSHA guidelines, mediating employee
problems/disputes, and serving as a liaison between the physicians and employees.

Kidney Paired Donation
Development of new program to facilitate the matching of potential kidney donors and recipients to
increase the likelihood of a transplant occurring for difficult to match patients.
CKD Transition Program
Current initiative focusing on the development and implantation of a transition program to assist
patients with chronic kidney disease transition to adult nephrology care. This program will involve the
expansion of nephrology services to include a clinical program dedicated solely to the
multidisciplinary care of the CKD patient.
