There are red flag warnings and fire weather watches in effect throughout the state.
There is a high risk of very dangerous rip currents along the Atlantic Beaches today.
Weather Forecast for Florida – National Weather Service Office Miami
Today- mostly cloudy in South Florida and Keys, partly cloudy elsewhere in
the state. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Keys, a slight
chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Western Panhandle, a slight
chance of showers South Florida and Northern Peninsula. Areas of
smoke and fog north. Highs in the lower to mid 80s in the Atlantic coast
and South Florida and mid 80s to around 90 elsewhere in the state.
Tonight- mostly cloudy in the Atlantic Coast, South Florida and Keys, partly
cloudy elsewhere in the state. Showers and thunderstorms likely in the keys.
A chance of showers South Florida. A slight chance of showers in the Northern
and Central Peninsula. Lows in the lower to mid 60s in the Panhandle and Western
Peninsula and upper 60s to lower 70s elsewhere except mid 70s in the keys.
Friday and Friday night- partly cloudy in the Panhandle and mostly cloudy
Elsewhere in the state. Showers and thunderstorms likely in South Florida and
Keys. A chance of showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Highs in The upper
70s and lower 80s in the Atlantic Coast and South Florida and mid to upper 80s
elsewhere. Lows in the lower to mid 60s in the Panhandle and upper 60s to lower 70s
elsewhere except mid 70s in the Keys.
Tropical Weather Outlook
The official end to Hurricane Season 2006 was Nov. 30, 2006. The tropical outlook has
been discontinued and will resume June 1, 2007.

A Burn Ban has been enacted statewide. The following counties, cities and
unincorporated areas have put bans in place as well: Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford,
Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Escambia, Flagler, Franklin, Glades, Gulf, Hamilton,
Hendry, Hernando, Holmes, Lafayette, Lake, Lee, Marion, Martin, Nassau, Okaloosa,
Okeechobee, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Polk, Putman, Santa Rosa, Seminole,
Sumter, Suwannee, St. Lucie, Taylor, Union, Volusia Unincoporated (and cities of
DeBary, DeLand, Deltona, Lake Helen, Oak Hill, Pierson), Wakulla, Walton.

in the next two months.
Upper East Coast (Martin and St. Lucie counties) • The C-23, C-24 & C-25 canals remain above the 14.0 feet National Geodetic Vertical Datum 29 criteria
for restrictions on water supply pumping (5/01/07 levels): C-23 = 14.74 feet; C-24 = 14.23 feet; C-25 =
15.63 feet.
Water Conservation Areas • Water Conservation Area 1 is at 14.06 feet National Geodetic Vertical Datum 29 on 5/01/07.
• Water Conservation Area 2 is at 10.17 feet National Geodetic Vertical Datum 29 on 5/01/07.
• Water Conservation Area 3 is at 7.96 feet National Geodetic Vertical Datum 29 on 5/01/07.
Lower West Coast (Lee and Collier counties) • During this past week the chloride concentrations at the Lee County Olga Water Treatment Plant have
remained below 350 parts per million.
Suwannee River Water Management
A district wide Phase I Water Shortage Advisory issued by the governing board in November 2006
remains in effect. There are no mandatory restrictions, but all water users in the District are urged to
practice water conservation.

Two Iraqi journalists slain | Bush to meet Iraq president
BAGHDAD - Gunmen broke into the home of a Sunni journalist and killed him and
seven family members, while another reporter was slain in southern Iraq, police and
medical officials said Wednesday. Abdul-Rahman al-Essawi was shot to death
Monday along with his wife, son, parents and three other relatives at his home about
10 miles west of Fallujah, said Dr. Anas al-Rawi of Fallujah General Hospital.

VIENNA - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday it was time for
Iran to change course and give up sensitive uranium enrichment work if it wanted to
