Safe rain water drainage on flat roofs – to avoid the
emergency!
Intense and continuous rainfall can cause damages to buildings and be a danger to humans and
real values. Elaborated drainage systems for flat roofs, built by b/s/t serve as security.
Rimsting, February 2014 - Over the past few years requirements regarding flat roof security have
particularly increased due to consolidated environmental influences. Stresses and strains by driving rain
and thunderstorms can cause a lot of damage and costs especially on elder roofs. As a result, the new
flat roof regulations and standards have to be followed very closely to assure the best possible safety at
contemporary flat roof constructions.
The wide product range of b/s/t emergency overflows offers products for almost all drainage
requirements on flat roofs
To assure safe rain water drainage on flat roofs - also in case of the heaviest rainfall - , b/s/t has created
a special product range of emergency drainage systems. Amongst others, emergency overflows with
a drainage capacity of more than 13 litres of water per second have been developed. In addition to
standard products like round, rectangular and vertical emergency overflows in standard sizes, b/s/t also
offers custom made rectangular overflows made from PVC, PE or PP with a width up to 1 metre.
By providing special construction b/s/t offers a maximum of flexibility and is often able to solve the most
difficult problems. The factory attached membrane flanges can be chosen out of a large selection of
original supplier membranes. The company b/s/t stocks almost all usual membranes, made of PVC,
EVA, VAE, Polyolefin, ECB and other materials.
As a reaction to the demands of the bitumen felt roofing industry for a wider range of adequate
accessories, the b/s/t ALIT emergency overflows are now available with factory attached bituminous
membrane and in pipe dimensions of 54mm, DN70 and DN100.

New product introduction: b/s/t Parapet Gravel Guard
In addition to the successful b/s/t Universal Gravel Guard, b/s/t is proud to present the new developed
and patented Parapet Gravel Guard, to be used on spouts and emergency overflows.
Like the b/s/t Universal Gravel Guard, the Parapet Gravel Guard is infinitely variable for outlet
dimensions from DN 70 up to DN 200 pipes. The gravel guard consists of high quality synthetic material
and is very easy to assemble and to remove without any tools. The robust ratchet system permits
precise and fast assembling.
