Get the following information to the Student Placement Coordinator as soon as possible:
1. Your contact information.
2. Drug Screen/Background Check – release access to GMC to view your account online.
3. Copy of RN Licensure.
4. Copy of current CPR Certification card.
5. Send the last 4 numbers of your SS# for Gwinnett system access codes
COMPLETE:
Computer Based Learning (CBL) Requirements are completed in myNetLearning (NL).
You will be assigned a NL login ID. This will be sent to you after you receive GMC system
access.
The CBLs are accessed on www.gwinnettmedicalcenter.org. Click on:
1. “Programs and Classes”,
2. Student Experiences – see the side menu “Step 3: Orientation” on this page.
Read over this page. The Web link/directions for NL are also found here.
3. Proceed to complete the required CBLs in myNetLearning the group of CBLS
titled “New Nursing Instructor Orientation CBLs”.
FYI: Annually thereafter, to remain current, you will complete:
 “Nursing Instructor Annual CBLs”; and
 Update yourself on your unit as appropriate and sign the Annual Unit Skills and Processes
Update Acknowledgement Statements*. Annually thereafter signing, completing, and
returning to the student placement coordinator..
COMPLETE: New Instructors attend Nursing Orientation (NO) (see schedule page 3):
Complete computer based learning (CBL) modules in myNetLearning prior to attending.
Inform student placement coordinator of which NO you will attend.
Note: New Instructors: Demonstrate Glucose Meter competency again at 6-months and may
be done on the unit.
COMPLETE: Admin RX Training. These are held the same week as Nursing Orientation on
Thursdays. (see schedule page 3) Inform student placement coordinator of which NO and
Admin RX Training you plan to attend prior to attending.
COMPLETE: Four (4) hours of Precepted Time on the Unit with manager/designee – some
units may require you to spend more time.

ID/Parking Badge

BADGES & Process to Obtain
 ID from the school REQUIRED at all times.
GMC INSTRUCTOR ID/PARKING ACCESS Badge
REQUIRED at all times.
1. Complete the ID/Badge form attached to this document.
2. You will need a current picture of yourself saved as a
“jpeg”. If you do not have such a picture, you will need to
arrange to have your picture taken by our Security team.*
3. Send the above form and picture to Linda Horst,
lhorst@gwinnettmedicalcenter.org who will sign the ID
Form and send all to Security to be processed. (If you do not
have a picture saved as a “jpeg” Linda will let Security
know you will arrange a time to have your picture taken
with them*.)
4. You will be responsible to pick up your badge at Security.
Your school may also assign this responsibility to you for
your students’ badges
5. The badge will give you access to parking and the units.
There will be no charge for Instructor badges, however if
they are lost there is a $25 replacement fee. Security asks
that you park only in Employee Parking.
6. Once you have your badge, your school informs L. Horst if
you may send your students Parking Form and their picture
to Security which will allow you to pick up the student
badges from Security. (Students pay $10 for the badge and
when returned at the end of the experience $5 is returned.)
*ID Badges can be obtained from the Security office MondayThursday, 7:30am-4:00pm, Friday, 7:30-1:00pm. Before coming to
have a badge made or to pick a badge up, please call 678-312-4057
or email Matt Shafer, mshafer@gwinnettmedicalcenter.org , and let
him know what time you will be coming.
Wear school uniform. Your department will direct you to follow the
GMC Dress and Appearance Policy 300-505.

INSTRUCTOR/STUDENT
Picture ID CARD ACCESS CONTROL
Student Directions: Complete this form and give it to your instructor along with a $10 deposit
and an electronic picture* of yourself to submit for a GMC Student Picture ID badge. ($5 is
refunded upon return of your badge.) If your instructor is not coming on campus follow #1below
for instructor badges.
Instructor:
1. For your Instructor badge: submit this completed form and an electronic picture* of yourself to the
Student Placement Coordinator in Learning Resources (LR), lhorst@gwinnettmedicalcenter.org .
These documents will then be forwarded by LR to the Public Safety Office and you can arrange a
time to pick up your badge at the Safety Office. Instructor Badges are free.
2. For your Student Badges: Once you have been authorized by LR to pick up student badges, please
submit the student completed forms and electronic pictures* (JPEG format is preferable) to the
Public Safety Office at Gwinnett Medical Center mshafer@gwinnettmedicalcenter.org; and let them
know when you would like to pick up the badge/s. Be sure to bring a $10 cash deposit for each
student badge. (When you return the student badges to the Public Safety Office they will refund you
$5 for each student badge returned.)
*If an instructor or student needs a picture made, call 678-312-4057 to arrange a time for the
picture to be taken. If any badge is lost there is a $25 replacement fee.

7:30am-4:00pm, Friday, 7:30-1:00pm. Before coming to have a badge made or to pick a badge
