The requirements focus on the special requirements for installation in safety classified areas (function class 1E). 1.2 Prerequisites Material shall be qualified or of proven design for use in the intended application. Electrical materiel must comply with applicable sections of the Swedish National Electric Regulation, “ELSÄK-FS” general advice. Environmental requirements and supplementary requirements shall be determined for each area and for each component in which electrical installation will be carried out. 2 DEFINITIONS Typical environmental conditions in a nuclear power plant have been divided into three basic levels of severity, depending on the location of equipment. Severity A Applied to equipment located outside the reactor containment, in areas where no hot process systems are installed. The level of ionising radiation is negligible. [TBE 101] Severity B Applied to equipment located outside the reactor containment, in areas with hot process systems. The equipment is exposed to ionising radiation. [TBE 101] Severity C Applied to equipment located inside the reactor containment. The equipment is exposed to ionising radiation. [TBE 101] Hot Component Components that through heat emission from e.g. process pipe the wide cable's connection point is set for temperature in excess of +50°C outside reactor inclusion alternative +70°C in reactor inclusion must be mounting/connected with special adapted to environmental materials. Hot objects in this sense are specified in special list. . 2016-02-16 (533548151) MBE 103 3 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General Version 4 en Sid. 3 (4) Installation material must have the correct properties as regards tolerance for high/low temperatures, damp/water, vibration, seismic requirements, radiation and other electrical and mechanical requirements applicable to the actual installation and testing. It shall also be well suited to final use during operation and maintenance, and shall have the desired ageing properties and the correct properties and resistance to fire. 3.2 Requirements in Nuclear Regulations For security classified components and equipment (function class 1E) applies special nuclear requirements e.g requirements to clarify breakdown, earthquake and fire. Which requirements that apply from the specific equipment be concluded from technical specification. In addition to international standards, special Swede can addition requirement apply. Mounting material in the form of expanding fasteners and fire seals will be standard approval certificate according to National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's construction rules in applicable security class. 3.3 Standardisation Products shall comply with the requirements, which are in line with the accepted standard in the nuclear industry, or for the individual product. 3.4 Technical Requirements Detailed technical requirements for electrical equipment or components in nuclear power stations are noted in the TBE. 2016-02-16 (533548151) MBE 103 4 INSTALLATION 4.1 Typical Environmental Condition Version 4 en Sid. 4 (4) Requirements for the environmental endurance of components vary depending on the area where the installation is to be done. The areas are subdivided as follows 4.2 Room Type Environmental Conditions Notes Control room Severity A Supplementary requirements for temperature, vibration etc may occur. Room for electrical equipment Severity A -“ Process room Severity A (B) -“ Hot process room Severity B -“ Reactor containment Severity C -“ Environmental Factor Installation material must be selected with consideration given to both the requirements associated with each basic level of severity and with any extra requirements needed to withstand the environmental factors found in each area. The choice of material shall then be made with consideration given to the following: 2016-02-16 (533548151) Environmental factor To be considered Temperature Hot components, condensation Damp and water Immersion, spraying, high pressure washing, dipping Chemical action E.g. salt mist, salt and sulphur compounds Mechanical action Sand and dust particles. Protection from abrasion. Bending radii of cables etc. Vibration Normal operation and during malfunctions Radiation Normal operation and during malfunctions, risk of contamination
