the 1st scene
(Kai and Gerdah sit on a floor before their roses in flowerpot, children look at
flowers and to water it)
The author: There were the boy and the girl in the big city where capstans of
houses touch clouds and swallows arrange their nests under the tile roofs.
Windows of their houses looked against each other and children cheerfully played
and looked after fine roses on the small balcony connecting the houses. They were
so amicable, that could not live separately even one day.
Kai: Gerdah, look at our roses ! They become such beautiful!
Gerdah: And what a wonderful aroma! Just feel it, Kai!
Kai: Interestingly, whether we can be like these roses?
(Gerdah's Grandmother comes)
Gerdah's Grandmother: Certainly. You like flowers. Only it is necessary for you
to open up yourself.
(She addresses to the grand daughter) – Gerdah.
Gerdah: Yes, granny.
Gerdah's Grandmother: I have prepared tea for you, help me to lay the table,
my sweet.
Gerdah: Of course, granny (She stands up and addresses to Kai) –
Kai, wait for me.
(they go)
(Kai takes and reads the book silently)
The author: Faraway from this place, there was the furious, very wicked troll.
He had made a mirror. But this mirror misrepresent everything. A good
things looked like bad, fine – ugly, and truthful – false.
And trolls have wanted to lift this mirror up to the sky,
but … (pause) the mirror has escaped, and, having fallen to the ground,
was broken into millions and millions smithereens. And these splinters
have scattered on the wide world …
Kai: Ah, I have got something in eye! (rubs the eye, stands up) Ah, my heart!
(keeps for heart, Gerdah runs in)
Gerdah: Kai, what is the matter with you ?! Lovely sworn brother, is it hurt for
you?!
Kai: (keeps away from her) let me alone, a whining little girl!
Gerdah: I have not made anything to you, let's better go to have a tea!
Kai: I don't need your tea, as well as these rotten roses !
(he overturns flowerpot and goes)
(Gerdah takes flowers on hands and fondles them)
Gerdah: Our roses! Poor roses, poor Kai.
(She leaves)
The 2nd scene
(Grandmother sits in an armchair and knits, children sit about her)
The author: The time has passed by and an icy cold snow winter has come for
change to warm tender summer. The frost drew on glasses strange patterns, and
the wind blizzed whirlwinds of white snowflakes along the street.
Gerdah: Kai, look, they are whirling as if white bees!
Kai: Have you seen a snowflake through magnifying glass?
Gerdah: No.
Kai: Well, it is made skilfully, such accuracy! It is much more interesting than
real flowers!
Gerdah (addresses to the grandmother): Granny, Is it the truth that snowflakes
have a queen?
Gerdah's Grandmother: Yes, my sweet. She has an icy soul and heart,
not knowing love.
Gerdah: And can she enter here?
Kai: Let she try! I shall put her on hot oven – and she
will melt immediately! (He gets on a chair)
(Snow queen appears in a corner of a scene and attracts him, frightened he jumps
off . Apparition disappears)
Gerdah: What is it? Snow queen?
Kai: The silly little girl! All this just a fairy tales. (He takes sledge) now I shall go
on the square to go for a drive with boys after carts.
(pulls her by plait)
Gerdah: May I go with you?
Kai: No, you will be frightened. (He leaves)
(Gerdah wipes tears, the grandmother consoles her)
The author: Kai has come running on the snow–covered square, where a lot of
children went for a drive. A venturesome boys hitched up their sledges to country
carts and drove rather far. Suddenly there is a big white sledge have appeared on
the square. Kai quickly has hitched up sledge and has gone, faster and faster.
And at last has disappeared from a view. Nobody have seen him again.
(Pause)
A cold winter months have passed and long–awaited spring has come.
But Gerdah did not forget about the sworn brother and mourned very much.
(the grandmother knitted and has fallen asleep)
Gerdah: (to the grandmother) Will Kai really never return?! If he is alive – I
should find him!
(she goes)
The 3rd scene
The author: She has left the city and has gone along the river smoothly carrying the
waters to the ocean. Whether for a long or a short time Gerdah walked, and she
has come in a beautiful green garden full of different flowers.
(Gerdah is surrounded by Flowers (children), music sounds, Flowers are turned
around, Fairy of flowers has come)
Gerdah: Ah, what are the marvellous flowers! (She addresses to the Fairy of
flowers, delightfully)
Hello, who are you?
Fairy of flowers: Hello, I am a Fairy of flowers. And who are you, the lovely girl?
What are you doing here?
Gerdah: My name is Gerdah. I go on a wide world to search for my sworn brother
Kai.
Fairy of flowers: You have a pure and courageous heart, the girl. And to pass
your way and to rescue Kai – let the Power of Divine Love will wake up
in you, and the fine flower will blossom above your head.
Gerdah: Fairy! What is the Power?
Fairy of flowers: It is the Power, gifted to us by Great Mother. She is the one who
gives infinite love. She has not beginning and the end, and
she is all- pervading. Do you want to awake this Power?
Gerdah: Yes, yes, certainly!
Fairy of flowers: Then put the right hand on your heart and tell: " The Great
Divine Love, come to my heart "
Gerdah: (repeats): The Great Divine Love, come to my heart!
Fairy of flowers: And now lift your palm above a head.
Gerdah: Oh, what is it?! It's like the flower is opening! And what a joy !
Fairy of flowers: And now draw a rainbow above yourself (She makes bandhan)
This rainbow is your protection.
Gerdah: And can I rescue Kai now?
Fairy of flowers: Yes, and you can melt an ice in his heart.
Gerdah: Many thanks! Good–bye, the lovely Fairy!
Fairy of flowers: Good–bye, the lovely girl.
(they leave)
The 4-th a scene
(Kai sits on a floor and assembles figures from an ice)
The author: And in the meantime, at the world's end, there was Kai in strange
slumber in ice halls of Snow queen. He sat on smooth like a mirror
floor and assembled figures from a flat ice.
(there is a Snow queen)
Snow queen: You make success, Kai.
Kai: What is perfection of facets ! (He examines a piece of flat ice).
There is no one wrong line!
Snow queen: Is it cold to you, Kai?
Kai: No, I do not feel a cold.
Snow queen: It is good. Kai, do you remember, what is love?
Kai: No, I do not remember.
Snow queen: You have become very clever, Kai. Your heart will become
absolutely ice very soon. You will be indifferent to these silly people, also
for their sufferings and joys. You are the supreme being, Kai, nobody can
be compared with you. Do you want to receive the authority, Kai?
Kai: I don't know, for what it to me.
Snow queen: How ? Don't you know? With the help of authority you can
play people, as these ice figures. Everyone will do what
you want. And nobody can oppose to you.
Kai: But, are the people an ice figures ? Grandmother told us, that me and
Gerdah like flowers.
Snow queen (angrily): Do you remember Gerdah? You have to forget her forever.
The most correct flowers are the ice flowers.
Kai: Yes, but they have no smell.
Snow queen: Boy, how may you dare to contradict me, the Snow queen!

an ice desert!
(She leaves)
the 5-th scene
The author: Gerdah went and went, through sunny meadows and shady groves,
through forests and fenny bogs, asking each passer-by about the brother.
But nobody met him. And once she has seen a big raven.
Gerdah: Hello, Raven. My name is Gerdah. I go for a wide world to search for
my sworn brother Kai. Do you know, where is he?
Raven: Carrhae (pompously croaks) we r-ravens such clever! We know
everything! Let's fly with me, I shall feed you wor-rm and read the book!
Gerdah: No, no. Worms and books are not necessary for me, I need my brother
Kai. He is a very courageous.
Raven: Carrhae. I know one courageous boy. He has come to our
royal palace from far away and this boy and princess become a big friends.
Gerdah: Probably it is he! Conduct me there quickly!
(they leave)
the 6-th scene
(Prince represents the right channel and Princess represents the left channel,
they come and quarrel because of a toy)
Prince: Now I shall play, give it to me!
Princess: No, you have already played, now I want!
Prince: I have found it at first!
Princess: No, it is only my toy!
(Gerdah and Raven come)
Gerdah: Ah, it is hot for my palms! I should to draw a rainbow
(she makes bandhan)
(Prince pulls Princess by plait and take the toy off)
Prince: It is for you, annoying little girl!
Princess: I shall complain to the daddy (she cries), and he will declare war on
your kingdom !
Prince: You are telltale, I will not play with you any more!
Gerdah: Do you really want to begin war because of a toy?!
Prince: Girl, who are you?
Princess: How can you come here ?
Gerdah: My name is Gerdah. I go for a wide world to search for
my sworn brother Kai.
Princess (she puts her palms on breast): Ah, as romantically!
Prince: That is adventure!
Gerdah: I hoped to find him here …, but I have found only quarrel.
Prince: But if we shall not quarrel, it will be absolutely not interesting!
Princess: Gerdah, don't leave. It is so boring for us!
Gerdah: But I have to search for Kai … and do you want, that joy will be opened
in your heart, and the fine flower will blossom above your head?

the 7-th a scene
The author: Having left the hospitable castle of Prince and Princess,
Gerdah continued her way. And the sandy twisting road has led her to the
dark dense forest. And suddenly …
(robbers sit at a fire, play cards, She–robber comes with a gun towards Gerdah)
She–robber: Ha ha. That's all… we have caught you, honey! What a chubby, what
a clean! And probably she has a tight-filled purse!
(Gerdah makes bandhan)
She–robber: Now we take it (she comes to Gerdah)
(Girl–robber runs out, pushes away She–robber)
Girl–robber: Take away the gun, Mummy !
She will be my toy.
She–robber: Why do you clash with me, daughter … It is my booty.
Girl–robber: Then we shall share it. Dress is for you, and the little girl is
for me.
She–robber: OK (she addresses to Gerdah) well, take off your fur coat. Ah …

Girl–robber: It is my Northern deer

Girl–robber: Is he really such cool boy to run after him for a wide world?
Oh, I will cry now ! (She jokes)
Northern deer: I have seen who have him taken away, the girl.
Gerdah: Have you seen Kai?! Where I is he ?
Girl–robber: You …? Speak immediately!
Northern deer: The Snow queen has taken away Kai. I saw her white sledge,
and small sledge with a boy following it.
There was on my native land – the Far North.
Gerdah (addresses to the she–robber): Release me please to the North.
Girl–robber: Stop it, you will find the other boy for yourself.
Look, we have a cool life here – freedom, everyone is master for himself.
Stay with us.
Gerdah: Shall I really can forsake the brother in a trouble? And the true freedom–
is inside. It is a freedom of Spirit. And you can become your own master
only if you have awoken Divine Power inside yourself.
Girl–robber: What? What is the Power?
Gerdah: It's a Power of Love. Do you want to feel it?
(Girl–robber nods as a token of the consent)
Gerdah: Put your right palm on heart and ask: " The Great
Divine Love, come to my heart "
Girl–robber: The Great Divine Love, come to my heart …
Oh, I am melting, it's so good for me!
Gerdah: Now the invisible to eyes flower will blossom above your head.
Girl–robber: Yes, I feel it !
Hey, Deer! Carry the little girl to Kai immediately.
(Girl–robber unties the Deer)
Northern deer: I shall bring her to the wise Finn, she knows, where a Snow queen's
palace is.
Gerdah: Thank you, the lovely sister. (She kisses Girl–robber)
Girl–robber: Good luck to you, Gerdah. Nobody named me
" the lovely sister ". I'll cry now (seriously).
Deer, skip faster than a wind. So long!
(Deer takes Gerdah on a back, they leave)
the 8-th scene
(the Finn sits and embroiders)
The author: There was the wise Finn in the far North, in low log house on coast of
frozen lake. In the summer she fished and collected roots, and in the
winter she weaved clothes and embroidered wonderful traceries.
The Deer with Gerdah have ridden tired and exhausted.
Finn: Oh, my poor, from whence are you?
Northern deer: the Girl searches for her sworn brother, he has been taken away by
Snow queen.
Finn: Warm yourself, my sweet, have a meal.
Gerdah: The kind woman, tell me please, where can I search for Kai?
Finn: For certain Kai is in halls of Snow queen. It is necessary to cross the lake
and then still for a long time to go among ice …
Northern deer: Give her a power of 12 herculeses.
Finn: No, I cannot to give her the greater power, than she has now. I feel
in her the Power of Divine Love which is granted by Great Mother.
Gerdah: I am go!
Finn: Where are you, child! There is a snow-storm now. And the deer cannot skip
because of weariness.
Gerdah: I must go.
(she rises and escapes, the Finn shouts to her following)
Finn: You forget your mittens, your boots?!
the 9-th a scene
The author: There was majestic ice palace over the lake, behind ice rocks.
Gerdah went barefoot, not feeling foots, under howling snow-storm,
closing her face from prickly burning snow flakes. And at last she has
stepped under sparkling vaults of ice halls. And she has seen Kai.
(Kai sits on a floor and assembles figures from an ice)
Gerdah: Kai, I have found you!
Kai: Watch out ! You will break my figures! (He continues to assemble)
Gerdah: Do you really forget me?! It's me – Gerdah. Do you remember our
roses?
Kai: I remember nothing, I don't want to remember anything.
Gerdah: Kai, lovely Kai! (Gerdah cries) The Divine Power, please,
help Kai, come to his heart!
(she rises Kundalini and makes bandhan over him)
Kai: Oh, it is so hot in my heart (a metal sound like ice go out)

Gerdah: Kai, draw over yourself a rainbow! (they make bandhan)
Snow queen: What is the energy, going from them?!
They burn me! It is bad for me! (she escapes)

The author: Kai and Gerdah have come back to the city where capstans of houses
touch clouds and swallows arrange their nests under tile roofs.
They sat on the small balcony and looked at the roses.
Kai: Gerdah, look at, our roses became so beautiful!
Gerdah: What a wonderful aroma! And now the fine flower blossoms above our
heads.
Kai: The times will come when this flower will blossom above all the people,
and then quarrels and boredom will disappear, and all the world will turn into
glorious wonderful garden.
