Guidelines for the Judges’ Resume The Judges’ Resume is your opportunity to demonstrate to the judges why they should consider you for the job of Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen. This page—along with your Platform Statement—comprises your entire application for this job. The judges will receive exactly what you submit. Your signature on the Platform Statement verifies that all information on both the Judges’ Resume and the Platform Statement is true and accurate. If it is proven that any information on these forms is not true, correct, and factual, you risk losing your local/state title. Use your best judgment on what is most important for the judges to know about you. You may list as many or as few items for each category as you desire. However, the entire form must fit on one page with 1" margins on all four sides using the Times New Roman font style. Use your space wisely. Any variations from this form will be returned to you and will not be accepted. Your materials will not be retyped. The judges will receive your original work. Any items that do not meet the criteria or are submitted after the deadline will not be given to the judges. Following is a sample of a properly formatted and complete Judges’ Resume. I believe that problems can be solved or certainly can be less stressful if those involved would only learn to communicate. To use this template, simply click on each field and type the appropriate information. Refer to the following chart of field names and descriptions for additional information and guidelines for each field. Field Name Name Hometown Education Platform Issue Scholastic/Career Ambition Description Your name as you wish the judges to know it. For example, if your name is “Suzanne Deborah Smith” but you want to be known as “Deborah Smith”, type Deborah Smith. The hometown of your permanent address, including both city and state. List the school you have most recently attend first. If it is graduate school indicate it as such. List the degree you are seeking on the same line as the name of the school. On the following lines, list your undergraduate school and degree sought/achieved, followed by your high school. Note: To move to a new line within the template form, press Shift/Enter The title of your platform. Do not type anything other than the platform title. The type of degree/education you would ultimately like to achieve followed by your career ambition. Leadership Roles Note: To move to a new line within the template form, press Shift/Enter The type of talent you are presenting and specific selection name. For example: Pop Vocal - “Reflection”, Tap Dance - “Chopsticks”, etc. Any scholastic honors you have received, each item separated with a semicolon. Any interesting facts about yourself, each item separated with a semi-colon. Explanation—in sentence form—of how you would market the Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen “Brand”. Include any relevant experience you have had which may uniquely qualify you to serve in this position. A portion of the Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen job description includes marketing the Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen and Miss Teen Texas programs to potential sponsors, educational institutions, and organizations. Note: You may not include any previous pageant titles or pageant awards on your Judges’ Resume. Statement—in sentence form—of what your legacy as Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen will be. This statement should answer the question, “A year after giving up your title as Miss Longview, what will we remember about your year of service?” Explanation of why you should be selected as Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen and, more importantly, why you should be selected Miss Dallas’ Outstanding Teen this year.
