English Language Partners Christchurch Job Description: Volunteer and Programme Coordinator 6 Month Fixed Term Position Responsible to: Manager, English Language Partners Christchurch Occasional weekend or evening work will be required. Hours: 25 per week. The Coordinator’s role may include, but not be limited to, the following tasks: 1-1 Home Tutor programme 1. Provide learner support Interview and assess learners for home and / or group tutoring. Match learners with appropriate tutors. Refer learners to other providers when appropriate. 2. Train home tutors to meet learners’ needs Recruit, interview and train volunteers for home tutoring. Assess tutors for their Certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring. 3. Support tutors working with learners Support with resources and ongoing training / workshops / information dissemination. Maintain personal contact with tutors. 4. Administration Maintain tutor and learner records. Prepare written reports as required. Liaise with National Association Office, other ESOL schemes, local community groups, other ethnic and migrant groups and their support groups. 5. Specific Responsibilities Oversee maintenance up to date and accessible library resources.
