When I was appointed as a faculty member at the University I was given several
responsibilities. The first is teaching the undergraduates: this includes teaching

residents. My job as a consultant entails several clinical and laboratory
responsibilities. I run a weekly clinic, in which I see an average of 30 general
hematology patients as well as hematological oncology cases. I attend the weekly
rounds, in which all inpatients are presented and discussed. I am on- call at least 5
days a month. During this time I supervise the on- call resident and I manage all
hematology inpatients. I also review all hematology consults.
I have been the Jeddah Hematology Club coordinator for four years. The club
meets four times a year to discuss interesting hematological cases. It is attended
by 30 hematologists on average.

the assigned rota. I attended clinical Hematology rounds twice weekly. I

administration.
I attended all hematology clinics according to the assigned Rota. During this
period I passed my first part (diploma) of The membership of the Royal College
