Dear Friend,
(Insert Cat’s Name Here) who has been my beautiful, beloved cat since Month Date,
Year, means the world to me. I can’t help but think of all the other cats living on the
streets that have been abandoned, neglected, abused and homeless who deserve a chance
at a better life. To that end I want to do something special in honor of (Insert Cat Name
Here).
I am asking if you would be willing to make a donation, any size, to the Gifford Cat
Shelter in honor of my cat, (Insert Cat’s Name Here)? Every year, the Gifford Cat Shelter
has a contest called the Cutest Cat Contest. It is really a fundraiser for the shelter, with
each person entering his/her cat and then trying to win the honor. This is the way it
works: one vote = one dollar. Each cat owner who enters a cat then goes out and tries to
raise money so that cat can win. The winner gets bragging rights, but of course the real
winner is the shelter, which is a cageless, no-kill shelter that takes in all cats regardless of
age or health, and gives them all love. Gifford is the oldest cat shelter in the country.
The contest kicks off with online voting on Jan. 15th and closes Feb. 15th at 5pm. On the
night of the Feline Affair, Feb. 28th, all cats entered will have one last chance to receive
votes before the winner is announced. Rankings will be posting on Gifford’s website.
Please help (Insert Cat’s Name) and I support homeless cats and win this year’s title. Visit
www.giffordcatshelter.org and select the “Event” tab for voting and contest details, just
make sure you list (Cat’s Name) in the “notes to seller” section when voting, otherwise
the vote will not count.
As a pet parent, I want to do whatever I can to ensure that Gifford has the necessary funds
to help as many cats as possible. Some are ferals and unsocialized, but Gifford will keep
these cats for the entirety of their lives with the majority getting adopted out to loving
homes. All of this is completely funded by donations. Your donation as a vote for (Insert
Cat’s Name) to win the Cutest Cat will be greatly appreciated by me and also by all of the
cute cats at Gifford.
