Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology and Department of biodiversity and bioresources,
Conference on
"BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATURE AND
SOCIETY"
Date: 9th to 11th April 2014
Conference will be held in Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, al-Faraby KazNU,
Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Topics of interest:
Section 1. Actual environmental problems and environmental protections.
Section 2. Preservation biodiversity of plants, animals and microorganisms.
Section 3. Modern problems of biology and medicine.
Section 4. Actual problems of biotechnology and way of their decision.
Conference languages: Kazakh, Russian, English
Oral sessions:
1. Plenary paper – 15 minutes
2. Oral sessions – 10 minutes
3. Poster (size 100 sm × 150 sm)

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
1. Authors should submit text files in 2 copies on e-mail. Prepare manuscript, including
tables, using a Word processing program and save it as a .doc or .rtf file, recommend type Times,
size – 12, space - 1,0, margins – 2 sm.
2. Manuscript should contain:
- UDC
- List of authors
- Title:
- names of all authors, department/division and contact details (address, telephone
number and email address)
- abstract (800-1000 symbols including spaces)
- keywords (250- 300 symbols including spaces),
- main text
- references (7-15 references, among them Kazakhstan authors share 30-40 %)
- title, list of authors, abstract and keywords should be represented besides in two other
languages differ from main text.
3. Preparing manuscript authors should follow the instructions for authors given below
UDC, authors, title by capital letters, bold. Introduction should include novelty, Materials and
methods should be described briefly and there is no need to describe well-known or recently
published methods as it is enough to indicate correspondent reference, Results and Discussion
should be state logically and well summarized.
4. References should be identified within the text as numbers in square brackets (example:
[8]) in the order in which they are cited. References are numbered consecutively in the order in
which they are first mentioned in the text and arranged as following: initials, title, journal title,
year, volume, number, first and last pages and according to government standard ГОСТ 7.12003; references are represented in original language and in English (transliteration is allowed).
5. Figures should be represented as high resolution figures and included in manuscript.
6. Articles in Journal «KazNU Bulletin. Series ecological» are accepted in Kazakh, Russian
and English languages. Manuscript should be properly adjusted and reviewed. Paper copy of the
manuscript should be signed by all authors and contact information should be stated in the very
end of manuscript (names of all authors, department/division and contact details (address,
telephone number and email address).
7. It is not allowed to reiterate data in the text proper, tables and figures. Tables and figures
should be enumerated. All tables should have headings, figures – captions. Formulae should
be set up using MS Word application.
8. The manuscript should be accompanied by review, comments and covering letter signed
by secretary.
9. Manuscripts that are not meet requirements are not allowed to publication and not
returned. Authors are responsible for paper content.
Publication cost: 5 pages – 40 $.
