3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I started my work as a lecturer at the School of Environmental Conservation Management/SECM
(Project ATA 90 and HTA 40B/Dutch-Indonesian Project on Natural Conservation and
Watershed Management Training Courses)-Center of Forestry Education and Training (CFET),
Ministry of Forestry. From 1987 - 1993, I was a lecturer/trainer on wildlife ecology, forest
hydrology, soil and water conservation, watershed management, wildlife management, natural
resource conservation in SECM.
I have 20 years experience in hydrological research, education and training program, lecturing
and consulting activities in the field of forestry, biodiversity conservation, forest hydrology, soil
and water conservation, watershed management, socio-economic analysis, participatory
conservation planning in rural areas, criteria and indicators (C&I) for sustainable management of
natural tropical forests, development of sustainable livelihood models on community living
surrounding conservation areas, education and public awareness on environmental management,
collaborative management and law enforcement on forest crimes.

will work and to oversee the selection and adequate supervision of Indonesian students.
To ensure that baseline research activities in relation to forest resource use dependency
and social assessment are carried out in a scientifically rigorous way and whose outputs
have direct application to the project.
To ensure the establishment and cohesion of an effectively managed Buton Forest Forum
whose members are committed to working towards the larger goals of the project.
Oversee the development of the Kakenauwe Field Centre for the purposes of both
research and environmental education and to maximize its utilization over the course of
the project.
Maintain an overall positive project profile and where appropriate establish good working
relations with government agencies, civil society organizations and the general public.
To ensure effective channels of outside communication are established by the project
including representing the project at meetings, workshops, seminars, press conferences
and other events as required.
To ensure all staff employed by the program act in a cohesive, diligent and socially
responsible manner that encourages the creation of a positive working environment and
that is in line with the social and environmental setting within which the program will be
based.
To ensure positive working relations with Operation Wallacea Trust staff responsible for
