Factoring Numbers Lesson
Prime Factorization
I. First Day
1. Review definitions of factor, multiple, and prime and
composite numbers.
2. Demonstrate Prime factorization by showing lesson from
BrainPOP.
3. Give BrainPOP test to make sure students learned the
process.
4. Use tutorial from gomath website for those who did not
get the process.
5. Give homework assignment: pp 162, 8 – 19
II. Second Day
1. Review Steps for Prime Factorization using Prentice Hall
Resource Disk.
2. Use Prime Factorization transparency for students to
work problems. Walk around room checking for
problems.
3. Homework assignment: pp. 163, 14 – 19.
