Siekmeier Beowulf obit w/form Beo Wulf, Monster Terrorizer (495-584) Beo Wulf (a.k.a. Beo the Bold), leader of the Geats for some 50 years beginning in 533, died ten days ago from injuries resulting from a battle with the dragon Grumpagrowlowlowl. He was 88. During a ceremonial burial today, his ashes, along with the loot he had captured from Grumpagrowlowlowl, were deposited at Horse Surround Tower, built in his honor. The service was highlighted by twelve high-ranking Geat warriors riding their horses around the tower while praising his memory. Wextan's son Wiglaf, Wulf's sole companion at the end, reported his final words, which included, "I can die, here, Knowing the Lord of all life has never Watched me wash my sword in blood Born of my own family." Wulf came to prominence at the Hall of Hrothgar the Dane in Herot about 515, defeating the monster Grendel shortly after arriving from his king and cousin Higlac. Wulf also conquered Grenma, the spawner of Grendel. He later accompanied Higlac on his expedition against the Franks and Frisians in 521. He humbly served under Herdred until Higlac's heir died in conflict against Onela the Swede. Wulf promptly exacted revenge by slaying Onela. Thereafter, Wulf ruled without being threatened until having to deal with the dragon. His unofficial interests included crafting purse clips. Son of Edgetho, Wulf had no progeny, but left his mantle of leadership to Wiglaf in the form of his gold-covered helmet, his rings, and his mail shirt. Contributions, in lieu of dragon lair residue, may be sent to the Hall of Hrothgar Restoration Fund.
