REGULATIONS FOR POZNAN INTERNATIONAL FAIR
GOLD MEDAL COMPETITION AT THE INTERNATIONAL
Trade Fair of Regions and Tourist Products
TOUR SALON
§1
The Poznan International Fair Gold Medal Competition is open for all tourist products exhibited at trade fair
stands which feature outstanding virtues being a “visit card” of region, luring tourists.
§2
PIF Gold Medal Competition is open for every tourist product presenting all the goods and services acquired
by tourists in connection with travel outside home , both before travel and during travel and also during stay
outside the place of dwelling.
PIF Gold Medal Competition is open to each tourist product presenting comprehensive combination
of all goods and services being purchased by tourists in connection with their trip outside their
places of residence – before their departure, during their journey and during their stay outside
their native locality as well.
Competition may be also joined by services for tourism and tools for their fulfillment ( shown at
fair’s stands ) which feature outstanding virtues of :
 modernity of applied solutions in relation to world solutions,
 degree of innovative solutions,
 economical factors ( purchase price, exploitation and service costs, costs of
discharge),
 environmental impact (among others: regeneration methods, recycling, possibilities
of biodegradation),
 materials and energy cost-efficiency,
 functional quality ( understood as joining of usefulness and practical values ),
 aesthetical quality,
and possess approvals and certificates required by law ( among them – admission to the Polish
market ) and do not require any additional laboratory, exploration or experimental examination.
§3
Conditions of admission to the Competition are following:
1. Entry has been made on the form which is enclosed to the Regulations and delivered to the
BIT Business – Innovations – Technologies Ltd in Poznan until the 5 October 2015, the
competition fee amounting to 1900 PLN has been transferred into the bank account of the
World Trade Center Poznan Ltd in Poznan and the proof of the executed payment has been
sent to the World Trade Center Poznan office until the deadline.
2. Product’s characteristic should be enclosed to application. It embraces:
a. core of the product
description of special tourist attraction being a region’s “visit card” luring tourists.
Such attractions may be as follows:
- natural values, e.g. lakes, woods, shape of landscape, canals or channels,
caves,
- antropogenic values, e.g. palaces, castles, churches,
- historical traditions e.g. places of special events, signs of folk culture, rites, relics
of material culture,
-
contemporary achievements e.g. buildings, infrastructural facilities etc.
b. real product
- quality of accommodation and catering bases,
- ways of information about product,
- communication availability ( flight, road, railway connections, roads’ quality),
- tourist routes ( water, bicycle, walking ones ).
c. expanded product
- quality and location of parking lots,
- level of bank services ( ATM machines, cheque possibilities ),
- level of insurance services,
- medical services: number of doctors, dentists, access to basic medical
services,
- security: police, municipal guard,
- organized events: sporting, recreational, cultural, folkloristic ones,
- service stations ( possibility of basic car service ).
Multimedial presentation about attractions and elements of real and expanded products
should be the integral part of application. Photos should complete such a presentation.
Information about all the donors of services contributing to the creation of tourist product
( organizers of events, hotel and restaurant owners, municipal authorities, transport
companies and workers, local inhabitants etc ) is also desired.
Description of marketing activities embracing:
1/ Direction of campaign
a) directed at home or foreign tourist,
b) directed at consumer, travel office, opinion-making groups, journalists, business
community,
c) other targeted groups ( present or would-be tourists, Polish emigrants ).
2/ Applied marketing tools
Travels for tourist branch or journalists, e-marketing ( its kinds ), advertisement
in traditional mass media ( press, radio, TV, leaflets, promotional materials, direct
marketing, outdoor advertisement ), trade fair participation,
3/ Signage of roads
- application of tourist signs along the roads ( according to disposition issued by
the Minister of Infrastructure ),
- promotion and signage of routes ( for cars, bicycles, walkers )
- tourist signs in public places ( parking lots, viewpoints – maps and other means of
audiovisual information ),
4/ Introduction of new technologies
- cooperation with National Website of Tourism ( http://www.polska.travel/pl )
- possession of the own website and examining of the satisfaction level of its users
- exploitation of new technologies like: GPS, Bluetooth marketing or IVR
( Interactive Voice Response ),
Enclosure:
GPS ( Global Positioning System ) – system of satellite navigation. The first step is the
expanding of data base with information concerning geographical coordinates of
places. Thanks to that tourist having GPS device may locate everywhere tourist
attractions as well as hotels in the vicinity, museums – and then reach these places.
Bluetooth marketing – a kind of mobile marketing, using communication possibility
with receiving person by Bluetooth connection. Principle is such that an advertisement
carrier with Bluetooth function detects within 100 meters laptop, mobile phone, PDA
and then sends request for receiving promotional news ( e.g. turn on Bluetooth! ). In
especially signed zones one may obtain invitations to social occasions, musical
creations, records, pictures etc. – after turning Bluetooth on.

IVR ( Interactive Voice Response ) – system enables the interactive service of a person
who is calling up. After indicating the proper option it’s possible to listen information in
chosen language. Such systems are often used in Contact Centers.
Application and other materials about a product should be delivered in Polish and English ( the
name of a product and its description should be in Polish ).

Applications and enclosed materials are to be formally verified by the World Trade Center Poznan
Ltd, based in Poznan. These materials will not be returned.
If submitted product is withdrawn at least 30 days before the beginning of the trade fair, half of the
competition fee will not be returned.
§4
1. Assessment of the competition products is executed by the Competition Jury – on the basis of: criteria
indicated under § 3 and additional materials about a product. Competition Jury is appointed by the
Poznan International Fair President of the Board. Members are scientists and men of practical activity –
specialist of the branch relevant to the trade fair. Competition Jury’s rules are determined in the separate
regulations established by the PIF President of the Board.
2. Competition Jury is to execute its assessment of the products submitted to the Competition, on the basis
of delivered documents, a day before the beginning of the trade fair.
3. PIF Gold Medal Competition Jury awards the PIF Gold Medal in a secret ballot, taking into considerations
the established criteria. Neither materials nor information concerning the course of the Competition may
be made available to any third parties by members of the Jury. Sessions of the Competition Jury are run
in secrecy, its decisions are final.
4. Products – winners are awarded with the Poznan International Fair Gold Medal and diploma – presented
during fair’s opening ceremony to Exhibitors who submitted products by the Poznan International Fair
President of the Board and Chairman of the Competition Jury. Selected product will not be awarded,
despite its positive assessment, if it is not exhibited at the trade fair.
§5
Each tourist product submitted to the Competition may be only once awarded with the PIF Gold Medal. This
restriction does not refer to the products in which significant, well-documented modifications have been
introduced. Competition Jury’s opinion does matter in this respect.
§6
1. Competition Jury announces its Gold Medal decisions before the fair through World Trade Center
Poznan Ltd and Poznan International Fair Ltd ( both based in Poznan )
2. World Trade Center Poznan Ltd is to inform awarded companies on the very day of the Jury’s decision
3. PIF Gold Medal is to be presented by the PIF President of the Board and the Chairman of the
Competition Jury during the solemn ceremony on the first day of the trade fair.
§7
1. The list of the awarded products is placed in all the information and promotional materials of the
Poznan International Fair Ltd, on the PIF Gold Medal website ( www.zlotymedal.mtp.pl ) and,
moreover, passed to the mass media.
2. Exhibitors, whose products have been awarded with the PIF Gold Medal, will obtain from the Poznan
International Fair:
2.1.PACKAGE of MEDAL – WINNER, it’s set of promotional materials including:
-PIF Gold Medal statuette ,
-in the electronic version: press release on the prize winners, Gold Medal sign’s book, advertisement to
be printed ( A4 size ) – “2015 Gold Medal Winner”,
-information on the winner to be published on the PIF website: www.mtp.pl , moreover on the Gold
Medal website: www.zlotymedal.mtp.pl,
-information on the winner to be published in the branch press and in selected papers of the national
press ( competition is under patronage of the “Gazeta WYBORCZA” ),
-A4 stand, large label identifying stand at the fair,
-participation at the solemn awards’ ceremony,
-film and photos of the above event,
2.2.Placing of the awarded product’s photo with description in the ZONE OFCHAMPIONS. Zone of
Champions is the separate and signed place in this pavilion, where information concerning all the
awarded products will be present.
2.3.Participation at the GOLD MEDAL – CONSUMER’S CHOICE 2015 Competition. Winner will be
determined by ballot. Voting will begin after announcement of the results through Gold Medal’s
website. Voting will be held during the fair also in the Zone of Champions, where voting posts will be
placed. Participants of this voting choose single, in their opinion, best product among products which
were awarded with the PIF Gold Medal during this fair. Winner will obtain the award - Gold Medal –
Consumer’s Choice 2015.
3. Records of the awarded products are kept by the World Trade Center Poznan Ltd in Poznan.
4. Exhibitors and manufacturers whose products have been awarded with the PIF Gold Medal may inform
about these awards in their advertising materials and other publications . Graphical presentation of the
achieved Gold Medal may be placed only on the awarded products and on their packaging. Information
of the PIF Gold Medal award is presented at stands of exhibitors – winners. Information concerning
Gold Medal award must unambiguously indicate both the awarded product ( in conformity with
obtained diploma ) and the name of the trade fair during which award occurred.
