Students will have a blast creating props to use in their performance on the Museum Stage on the last day of camp. You will be creating your own personal Explorer’s Kit so you can continue the adventure at home. This camp is hands-on and lots of fun! You will create your own bath salts, fizzy bath bombs and more. Come learn basic writing techniques and experiment with illustration styles. You will leave the camp with a complete book and information on publishing. Your little one will experience a variety of smells and textures through fun bonding activities. This camp is a wonderful opportunity to develop and practice fine and large motor skills and engage in all the fun of learning with an emphasis on art and sensory activities. Fee: $30 per child Instructor: Shelley Schauer Planes, Trains, & Automobiles 10:00AM -12:00PM Aug 5-9 Ages 3-5 Build and experiment with different vehicles each day, while learning about the science of movement. Students will construct vehicles, build ramps, and talk about the basic principles of motion. Fee: $60 per child Instructor: Trista Johnson Cake Baking & Decorating 10:00AM -12:00PM Aug 12-16 Ages 5-9 Learn the secret to creating beautiful and tasty treats. Each child will bake and decorate their own individual cake. We will mix up the batter, make the icing, create with fondant and learn how to make flowers with icing! Save room for goodies at the end of camp. Fee: $65 per child Instructor: Jennette Jones Artistic Explorers 1:00PM-3:00PM Aug 12-16 Ages 5-9 We will explore a different art medium each day, including paper-making, paint, clay, fingerpainting, ice sculptures, and much more. Students will also be creating an ongoing group project, which will progress each day. By week’s end, we will have created a beautiful piñata that we will break open together. On the final day, our young artists will exhibit their work at 3:00pm. Be ready to get a little messy and have fun while we get hands-on with creativity. You will create several truly original works of art in this one day amp. Come share in some fun with large motor activities using music, movement, and literature while focusing on different aspects of language and social development. You will enjoy exploring art, rhythm and sign language together. Fee: $30 per child Instructor: Shelley Schauer Musikgarten Summer Class Cycle of Seasons for Preschoolers (Ages 3-5) 10AM-10:45AM July 1,3,4 8,10,11 15,17,18 Fee: $99 per child for 9 classes Celebrate your preschooler’s growing independence and love of the outdoors with activities involving the four seasons in The Cycle of Seasons. Developed to build attention and self-expression, activities include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. The Cycle of Seasons nurtures your growing child’s ability to use language and participate in dynamic play within a musical context. In addition to creative camps and experienced instructors, the Children’s Museum is offering Before and After Camp Care. Before and After Camp Care is available from 8:30am-10:00am, 3:00pm-5:30pm and in between the morning and afternoon sessions ($5/per hour, per child). Children will be provided a snack mid morning and mid afternoon; children will bring their own lunch daily. All children participating in this program must be able to toilet independently. Camp Cancelation & Refund Policy If you decide to cancel a class registration one week prior to the camp then the registration fee is refundable. If cancelled less than one week in advance, you will receive a 75% refund. For a cancelation 72 hours or less before the start of the camp, no refund is given. Please note; payment is required to guarantee a spot in a camp.
