Definitions
Organisational requirements refer to policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
of the workplace or training/educational establishment.
Other contexts may include sport, social, in the community at large, dealing with an
official, in receipt of goods or services, applying for rental accommodation.
Parties may refer to the harassed person, the harasser(s), the employer and/or
associated participants.

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Identify sexual harassment and its effects.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Legal responsibilities of organisations in relation to sexual harassment are
identified in accordance with legislation.
1.2
Situations or relationships in which unwelcome or offensive sexual behaviour
may occur are identified.
Range
1.3
evidence of at least two situations or relationships is required.
Possible consequences of sexual harassment are identified for parties involved.

consequences may include but are not limited to impact on –
emotional wellbeing, mental health, physical health, legal action,
relationships, employment, education.

Describe how to address unwelcome or offensive sexual behaviour.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Ways of responding to unwelcome or offensive sexual behaviour at the time it
occurs are described in terms of protecting own wellbeing.
Range
2.2
evidence of at least two ways of responding is required.
Procedures for making a complaint about unwelcome or offensive sexual
behaviour are described in terms of maintaining the safety of complainant and
in accordance with legislation and/or organisational requirements.
Range
evidence of one procedure within a workplace or learning
institution, and one procedure in a context other than a workplace
or a learning institution is required.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.

to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
