An Independent Study or Internship may count as 1 elective but is not required. The four required courses in Chemistry fulfill the 12-credit Option B of the LA&S Advanced Curriculum Requirement. Second year foreign language proficiency is only required for students seeking the BA rather than the BS. * General Biology and General Chemistry require the completion of the Math Placement test prior to enrollment. Students that are able to co-enroll with Basic Math II will be accepted into Biology and Chemistry. Three of the four electives must be selected from the following courses: BIOL 3450 Biochemistry, BIOL 3900 General Microbiology, BIOL 4500 Molecular Biology, BIOL 3350 Cell Culture Techniques, or BIOL 4810 Immunology.
