Scholarship Application
The Utah Environmental Health Association (UEHA) has established education in environmental health as one of their principle
goals. Structured education at the undergraduate level is most important to an individual’s professional development for work in
this field. With this ongoing goal in mind, the UEHA Board of Directors has established a UEHA scholarship fund in the amount
of $500.
Purpose: The purpose of the UEHA scholarship program is to encourage early commitment by students to a career in
environmental health. The scholarship is to be applied for during their sophomore and junior years and used toward the tuition and
fees of students who are currently in their junior or senior years of college. The student must be enrolled in a science-based
curriculum at a four year college in the state of Utah.
Duration: The scholarship is awarded once per calendar year.
Application: Applicants must (1) complete the official application form, (2) provide an official copy of the student’s academic
transcript from the school in which they are currently enrolled, (3) submit to a criminal background check, and (4) submit an essay
of 250-300 words on a current environmental health topic. Selection will be based on submitted materials and a personal interview
conducted by members of the UEHA Technical and Resolutions Committee.
