Psychology Dream Analysis Assignment
Analyze and interpret one or more of your dreams. The paper should be typed
(double-spaced) and a minimum of 3 pages long.
**PLEASE WRITE YOUR PAPER IN THE FORM OF A LETTER**
Please try and include as many of the following ideas that you can in your
analysis:
1. A detailed description of the dream(s) (Manifest content)
2. Dialogue or any words you can remember
3. The number and types of people in your dream(s) (friends, strangers,
relatives)
4. The mood of the dream(s) (happy, scary, sad, etc.) What are the different
feelings in the dream?
5. Settings – where does/did the action take place?
6. What are you doing in the dream? Are you an observer, participant, seeing
yourself? What are the major actions in the dream?
7. What was the time frame? What was your age in the dream?
8. Is the dream bizarre? Mundane (ordinary)?
9. Is it a recurring dream?
10. A thorough analysis or interpretation (Latent content)
11.What are the issues, conflicts, and unresolved situations in the dream?
What are the major symbols and objects?
12.How might the dream be relevant to your waking life?
13.What is the main function of the dream?
14.Did you learn anything about yourself from the dream? Why did you need
this dream?
