ACT 1: RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY
Narrator: The Little Seeds are all in a row asleep in their beds
when all of a sudden, they hear a sound!
Rain shakes their watering cans.
(Rain stick making noise wakes seeds up.)
Seed 1: What’s that noise?!
Seed2: Somebody’s at our door!
Rain: Little Seeds, Little Seeds.
Seed 3: Who is it?

Rain: We are the Rain and we’ve come to meet you.
Seed 4: Sorry, but we are taking a nap.
Seed 5: Please go away!
Rain: But we have been looking for you.
Seed 6: We never open the door to strangers (shaking finger).
Seed 7: They frighten us (shaking).
Seed 8: We are so tiny and helpless.
Seed 9: We want to stay down here where it is cozy and warm.
All Seeds: Please leave and never come back!!
All Rain: But you need our water to help you grow. Please let us
in.
All Seeds: No! No! No!
Rain (sadly): Okay, we’ll leave. But we’ll be back someday.
Goodbye Little Seeds.
All Seeds: Goodbye Rain!

All Seeds Stand and Everyone Sings:
Rain, rain go away
Come again another day
We want to take a nap today!
And one other thing say we,
We don’t let strangers in you see!
(Seeds go back to sleep.)
ACT 2: WHISTLING WINDS
Narrator: The rain has stopped and the wind begins to blow.
Wind (on stage moving arms): Whoooooo – 2times
Seeds sit up.
Seed 1: What’s that noise?
Seed 2: Somebody’s at our door.
Wind: Little Seeds, Little Seeds.
Seed 3: Who is it now?
Wind: We are the Wind and we’ve come to meet you.
Seed 4: Sorry, but we are taking a nap.

Seed 5: Please go away!
Wind: But we have been looking for you.
Seed 6: We never open the door to strangers.
Seed 7: They frighten us.
Seed 8: We are so tiny and helpless.
Seed 9: We want to stay down here where it’s cozy and warm.
All Seeds: Please leave and never come back!
Wind: But we want to help you find a place to grow. Please let
us in.
All Seeds: No! No! No!
Wind (sadly): Okay, we’ll leave. But we’ll be back someday.
Goodbye Little Seeds.
All Seeds: Goodbye, Wind!

All Seeds Stand and Everyone Sings:
We like to sleep in our lower berth,
Way down here, down deep in the earth,
We’d rather stay all safe and sound,
Than dance and play above the ground.
(Seeds go back to sleep.)
ACT 3: HERE COMES THE SUN
Narrator: The bright sun is shining its rays on the garden.
(The suns enter with flashlights shining on the sleeping seeds.)
Sun: Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle.
Seed 1: Boy I’m hot! What’s that noise?
Seed 2: Somebody’s at our door again!
Sun: Little Seeds, Little Seeds!
Seed 3: Who is it now?!!
Sun: We are the Sun and we’ve come to meet you.
Seed 4: Sorry, but we are taking a nap.

Seed 5: Please go away!
Sun: But we have been shining all over looking for you.
Seed 6: We never open the door to strangers.
Seed 7: They frighten us.
Seed 8: We are so tiny and helpless.
Seed 9: We want to stay down here where it’s cozy and warm.
All Seeds: Please leave and never come back!
Sun: But you need our light to help you grow. Please let us in.
All Seeds: No! No! No!
Sun (sadly): Okay, we’ll leave. But we’ll be back someday.
Goodbye Little Seeds.
All Seeds: Goodbye Sun!
(Little Seeds go back to sleep while Sun walks across stage with
Wind and Rain following.)

ACT 4: IT’S IN THE CLOUDS
(The Sun, Wind and Rain are front and center stage to sing the
following words to the tune of “Oh dear, what can the matter
be?)
Oh dear, what can the matter be? (3X)
Seeds won’t grow up to see…
The beautiful earth and
The tall pretty trees.
Small children playing
And squirrels and leaves.
What can we tell them?
What can we do?
We don’t know, do you?
Sun: They won’t let us help them.
Wind: Or us.
Rain: Or us!!!
Sun, Wind, Rain: If they don’t let us help, they will dry up and
fall to pieces!
(Super Cloud, or SC, comes onto the stage)
SC: No need to fear, Super Cloud is here. It looks like you have
a problem.

Rain: How did you know?
SC: Clouds know everything. We see it all from up above. Now,
is it true that the Little Seeds won’t let you help them?
Sun, Wind, Rain: YES!!
SC: Did you tell them why they need you?
Sun, Wind, Rain: YES!!
SC: (walks around tapping chin) Now let me
think…hmmmmm…wait, I know! Let’s call Mother Earth, she’ll
know what to do!
Sun, Wind, Rain: Hey! Good idea!
All Sing MOTHER EARTH CAN
ACT 5:
MOTHER KNOWS BEST
Super Cloud, the Sun, the Wind, and the Rain
Mother Earth, Mother Earth, where are you?
We need you Mother Earth.
(ME floats across the stage)

Mother Earth (ME): (Walks on stage) Hello my children. I
heard you calling me. Is everything alright?
SC: The seeds won’t let anyone help them grow.
ME: Well, well. Let me see what I can do.
(Sun, Wind, Rain walk behind seeds)
Little Seeds, Little Seeds. Wake up. Wake up.
All Seeds: Hello Mother Earth.
ME: Hello my little ones. Super Cloud and I are here to tell you
about our friends; the Rain, the Wind, and the Sun.
ME & SC: They are our friends and they will help you grow so
you can see the big beautiful world!
ME & SC: Please let them help you. Okay?
All Seeds: Okay.
ME & SC: Good!
Rain, Wind, Sun: Little Seeds follow us! We’re going to take
you above the ground.
Sun: (shining flashlights) We are the sun and we will give
you light.

Wind: (waving fans) We are the wind and we will help you find a
nice place to grow.
Rain: (sprinkle watering cans) We are the rain and we will give
you water to drink.
All Sun, Wind, Rain: Stand up and open your eyes Little Seeds!
(Seeds stand wearing flower headpieces looking at each other)
Seed 1: Hey we’re beautiful!
Seed 2: And colorful too!
Seed 3: I can’t believe this!
Seed 4: You really did help us!
Seed 5: This is wonderful!
Seed 6: We’re sorry we didn’t believe you.
Seed 7: Oh, thank you!
Seed 8: The earth is so beautiful!
Seed 9: There’s one thing we know for sure…

Seed 9 leads seeds to end of stage with ME, SC, Rain, Wind, &
Sun following. All face audience.
