Traditional Lifeways – from identifying and harvesting wild food and medicines to cultivating
awareness of ourselves and our surroundings, from the restoration of human health to the
restoration and tending of the land – are increasingly crucial to our well-being as individuals and
as a species in our challenging and uncertain times. These primary skills and understandings
are dynamic and ever evolving in accordance to our context and needs, and can be integrated
into contemporary urban life in groundbreaking new forms and means, providing us with the
ability to impact community and culture in ever more profound ways.
Anima Home Study is designed to bring students back into direct connection with their authentic
awakened selves, with the informative land and vital human community, as well as with the
traditional lifeways so valuable in maintaining those relationships. Through practical skills,
personal tools, primal knowledge and expanded awareness, these courses aim to assist each
person in the process of both discovering and living their dreams and purposes. In addition,
the 5 From the Ground Up: Foundations in Traditional Western Herbalism courses provide the
essential basis for a powerfully effective herbal practice.
Each Course will include:
• Assigned Readings by your instructors
• Self-Exploratory Questions – for you to consider and then respond to
• Useful Techniques & Practices – for you to try, and then to describe the results of
• Assignments – for testing and manifesting what’s learned, finding of ways in your daily
life to apply new insights, methods and tools in order to further your quest, practice, path or
purpose
• Plus a detailed instructor response to your completed work, clarifying, affirming, adding
to and furthering... with additional personalized tools and assignments if needed
Requirements:
• Your intention, attention, openness and focus
• A strong commitment to complete the course readings and assignments, and to
utilizing what you learn in your daily life
• A suggested donation, whether sent at once, or pledged over time
This place and work depend on your support, even more so because the Anima School doesn’t
demand payment before helping like most places do.
Suggested Sliding Scale Donation:
For most courses: $250 to $500 sliding scale donation, depending on your ability to contribute
and how much you value what is offered
From the Ground Up - Grassroots Training in Traditional Western Herbalism Courses:
$350 to $700 suggested donation for each of the 5 lengthy foundational courses for herbalists, a
sliding scale based upon your ability to contribute as well as how much you value what is given
• Those of you who are able, are asked to send the entire amount with your completed
application
• Those unable to donate the complete amount at once, are asked to please send as
much as you can at the time of registration, along with a pledge to send the remainder as you
can, in small installments if necessary
• If you feel you cannot either send or pledge to send at least the minimum suggested
amount, please apply anyway, explaining your situation and intentions
