They have never had any children but three brothers and a sister survive. The house is on section 14, one mile west of the Bellevue road. The aged couple celebrated their golden "wedding" three years ago, an account of which was published in the Sentinel at the time, together with their portraits which are here reproduced. Mrs. Bennett's maiden name was Delia Tanner. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, as is her husband. The most remarkable part of this remarkable record is, perhaps that they lived on the one farm where they started, during the entire period of their married life, except the first year. He was always at the front, was engaged in one hundred and twenty-five battles and skirmishes. His death was largely due to a wound in the neck that affected the spine. He suffered much for three weeks. In 1886, he enlisted in the army of the Lord, and united with the Wesleyan Methodist church at East Berlin, and was a true and faithful member until death.
